Intenciones de MisaThe custom of requesting a priest to offer the Mass for

a specific intention, even when one cannot bephysically present at the Mass, is a longstanding

Do you really trust God? Do you really believe that God will provide all that

you need? Faith is a challenge for everyone at times. Putting our trust in

God, in everything we do, in good times and in bad, means that God’s

plan for our lives may be quite different than what we planned.

When one door closes, another one opens. Trust in God, His plan is always

    better.

O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope.We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick.At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith. You, Salvation of the Roman People, know what we need.We are certain that you will provide, so that,as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial.Help us, Mother of Divine Love,to conform ourselves to the Father’s willand to do what Jesus tells us:He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us,through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen.

We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God.Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.

Act of Spiritual CommunionSpiritual Comunion Prayer

Spiritual Communion is an ardent desire to receive Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament. The

most common reason for making an Act of Spiritual Communion is when a person cannot

attend Mass. Acts of Spiritual Communion increase our desire to receive sacramental

Communion and help us avoid sin.My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the

Most Holy Sacrament.I love you above all things and I desire to receive

you in my soul.Since I cannot at this moment receive you

sacramentally,Come at least spiritually into my heart.

I embrace you as if you were already thereAnd unite myself wholly to you.

Never permit me to be separated from you.Amen.

Living the LiturgyInspiration of the Week

There isn’t a human being alive who hasn’t acted foolishly or erratically at the cost of almost losing a treasured

way. Stumbling through life and bumping up against meaninglessness,

a person can begin to see that something significant is missing. They

see that there is merit to a relationship with God and an embrace

of faith. Before these can take root, sincere sorrow for past wrong doing,

missed opportunities, errors in judgment, and short sightedness is necessary. Repentance is necessary. Then having realized that we were walking in darkness, we can rejoice

that by God’s grace we now see the light. -LPi Publishing

#ShareYourFaith: Support the Collection for the Church in Latin America at Mass (January 23-24)

For over 50 years, Catholics in the United States have participated in the Collection for the Church in Latin America as a concrete expression of solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Central and South American and the Caribbean. This year the needs of the Church in Latin America are even greater in the wake of the COVID pandemic. Your contribution to the collection on the weekend of January 23-24, no matter how small, is a chance for you to support religious education, evangelization, and formation of priests and religious sisters and brothers throughout the Americas. Saint Paula D AT E S : 3 4 7 - 4 0 4F E A S T D AY: J A N U A R Y 2 6

T he patron saint of widows, Paula was a wealthy Roman widowed with five children at age 32. Another widow introduced her to St. Jerome, a priest and papal secretary to St. Damasus. Jerome became her spiritual director, urging a life of asceticism and charity. When he learned she was fluent in Greek, he enlisted her help in translating Greek biblical texts for his new Latin version of the Bible. Paula had joined the circle of nobility-born Roman women in Jerome’s orbit, and followed him to the Holy Land when he left Rome. She taught herself Hebrew, and exhausted her wealth building a monastery, three convents and a hospital in Bethlehem.

  • PRAYER RESOURCE

All too often, Lord, we turn away from the world's many problems, which seem too big, too complex, or too far away. Forgive us our indifference.

It is easier, Lord, to see only what is around us: our lives, our homes, our challenges. Forgive us our isolation.

Help us to see with your eyes: eyes which notice one another and help us understand.

Help us to dream your dream: of communities that reach out and dialogue and where diverse people creatively cooperate.

Help us to be people of solidarity and action, so moved by prayer, encounter, and understanding that peace can become a reality.

    Amen.

grandes, demasiado complejos o demasiado lejanos.

    realidad.

    Amen.
