FINANCIAL MUSING & UPDATEI want to take this opportunity to update everyone that thanks to your generosity, our parish’s financial status remains solid and on good footing. During the height of the pandemic, many of you
dropped off or mailed your contribution envelopes. Many still are dropping their envelopes off at the parish office. Please know that you are still welcome to do this, and once you place your envelope in the slot it drops into a locked and secure area. Many also opted to begin using the online giving platform that is on our parish website.
THANK YOU for keeping our parish in mind and for your sacrifices that allow us to continue our good work. I humbly ask that you continue your contributions and financial sacrifices. In just the last half year, we have hired a new bookkeeper, maintenance man, school principal,
and coordinator of faith formation. I am excited that we have a great team now and can focus on the faith in a more profound way.
FAITH FORMATION UPDATEWith Ms. Allison Accardo on board now, please remember to register for faith formation that will begin this fall. You can either get ahold of Ms. Accardo at [email protected] or call her office using the parish phone number and extension 122.

HOW DO I BECOME
Catholic?COME AND SEE!
Are you interested in becoming
Catholic? Do you still need to
make your First Communion and/
or Confirmation? Do you know
anyone who might like to see
what joining the Catholic Church
is all about?
The RCIA (Rite of Christian
Initiation of Adults) at Good
Shepherd is a process for
adults seeking to become
fully received into the
Catholic Church through
the Sacraments of Initiation
(Baptism, Eucharist, and/
or Confirmation). We have a
wonderful team, alongside
members of our parish
community, who are excited
to share in faith with our
catechumens (those who have
not yet been baptized) and
candidates (those who have
already been baptized – in the
Catholic or another Christian
faith).
If you are interested in
learning more, please
contact Holly Tockstein at
Thank you!

PRAYERS RISE UP LIKE INCENSE BEFORE THE LORD We are beginning a new ministry at
Christ the Good Shepherd. Parishioners
that have prayer intentions can email
prayer_intentions@
christgoodshepherd.org.
These intentions will be viewed daily,
and forwarded to the prayer team,
and are kept totally confidential.
It says in scripture: "In the same
way, the Spirit too comes to the
aid of our weakness; for we do not
know how to pray as we ought,
but the Spirit itself intercedes with
inexpressible groanings. And the one
who searches hearts knows what is
the intention of the Spirit, because
it intercedes Holy ones according to
God's will." - Romans 8:26-27

$35 per person
Register online at
stpaulretreat.org
When our life journey is
touched by death and
the grief that follows, we
can turn to Mary for both
solace and inspiration.
Mary’s life journey was
touched by sadness,
sorrow and grief, yet
she encountered God’s
presence and grace in
the journey. Can we allow
Mary to accompany us and
point to hope and new
life? The day will include
a grief workshop, time for
communal and personal
prayer, Sacramental
Anointing, and a hot lunch.

SUMMER PICNIC
MEMORIES
Thanks so much to all of our
young people and families who
came out for the Teen Forum
picnic and kickball game last
Monday! The weather was a
little scary at first, but the rain
clouds and drizzle gave way
to a beautiful, cool evening.
We could not have asked for
anything better! We should
have known . . . God is always
so good to us! The energy
and “friendly competition”
throughout the night was just
awesome, and it was so fun
to see so many happy faces!
Thanks to all those who shared
treats with us and helped with
set-up and clean-up. It was a
perfect evening!
TEEN FORUM GIVING GARDEN
As we now are in the month of
August, the Giving Garden in
the Parish Center courtyard is in
full swing and we are definitely
seeing vegetables appear! We
have been sharing some of the
produce with our parish family
over the past few weekends and
we are happy to see that much
of it is being taken! We hope
you enjoy it! We will continue
to share any produce that is
ready over the upcoming weeks
so please look for the basket
in the Gathering Area and take
anything you would like. This is
a way for us to say thank you
for all of the ways you support
and love us throughout the
year! Continue to enjoy these
beautiful summer days and the
veggies, too!
Peace and blessings, -The Youth Ministry Team

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love you above all things and I desire to receive you in my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, Come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there And unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.
