jason rosensecond iteration of first idea

abstract

i aim to offer a new means of understanding oneself as an emergent form in an aggressive time, a vessel to be mediated but that also asserts direction and aesthetic values to an extant reality.

by synthesizing principles of dark ride design, body modification strategies, and a critical stance in queer theory and ontological modalities, i aim to build finalized objects embedded with conduits of changing perceptions in dynamic exchanges from the user to their world.#(mediator, immersion, ontology, visualization, augmented reality, queer invocation / invocational media)

spatial discovery through sensorial production

the world is an interstitial flow of experiences.

how can artmaking curate, isolate, and define controlled visions?

Olafur EliassonYour blind movement, 2010

self perception can be mediated by toolsets that re-situate not only the human body but also its relationships with the environment it shares.

the results can be profound, transgressive, and empowering experiences.

mediated environments

Lucy McRaethe peristaltic skin project, 2009

the impetus for this thesis project is rooted in my tested and ongoing interests in the human form as a mediator, performance documentation, product design, narrative, and above all else the unification of these sometimes disparate elements into a singular immersive environment.
