Happy Thanksgiving!

Preparations and plans are under way to bring an American Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s to our Marines serving far from home. Darrow had a meeting with the chaplains on Camp Hansen to plan the holiday season for the Marines. We will be serving Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner at the hospitality house and our home will be open the whole time the Marines are off work. Many will be spending the night with us.

We are just the feet on the ground; God uses all of us—that includes you—to make an impact here and share the love of Jesus with these men and women.

We just received a letter from a grandma of one of our Marines. Here’s a little of what she said: What a blessing and an answer to prayer your family has been. We were praying long before he reached your island, that God would have someone positioned and waiting for his arrival. It’s a scary thing to see your young man from small town USA leave home and join the Marines—I don’t think I need to spell that out.

However, just about the first FaceTime and every time since, he talks about your ministry. It could only be God that would set up an arrangement like this. He is growing in the Lord at a seemingly greater rate in the Marine Corps and across the world than he was here.

I’m so thankful and grateful that you have listened to the voice of God and gone where He needed you to go!

FAMILY UPDATECassie is doing great at Barclay College in Kansas. She has been making friends, has a campus job, and is doing stellar in her studies. She will be in the December show Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” set in the 1940’s. We sure do miss her and are trying to get her home for Christmas.

James is doing well in his Senior year. He’s started going to a different youth group because it’s an easier base for us to access. He is the only Senior. He has continued to lead worship at chapel and at our house.

Here is a note from Michael, one of our Marines:The Hansen Christian Center is a hospitality house under the ministry of Cadence International. Cadence’s mission is “Sharing the gospel and our lives with the military community.” Everything used to host the Marines throughout each week has been donated by those who support this ministry.

The Christian community here is amazing! I am surrounded by Christian men and women who want to see me grow in my relationship with Christ as well as those who want to grow themselves. There is community on-base even; however, I truly believe God is using the Frazier family and the Marines at the house to grow His kingdom here in Okinawa for reaching out with the gospel—growing men and women passionate for God’s glory.

I can’t express how much of an impact this family of Christians has had on my life in the brief six months I’ve been in Japan. From Darrow’s teaching and mentoring, to the friendships I’ve made with brothers who are serious about their walk with Christ, and just having a place to go each week to be with friends. It’s been a great first few months in Japan and The Hansen Christian Center has made it more bearable.
