Please be aware of road closures around Sacred Heart School tomorrow afternoon due to Turlock High School’s Homecoming Parade. Use caution and allow extra time
when picking up your child from school.
The Knights of Columbus Drive-Thru BBQ Chicken Dinner has been postponed until further notice.
All are welcome to join us on Monday, Oct. 31st, for our Harvest Festival and Parade of Literary Characters.

Tuesday, Nov. 1st, is All Saints Day, and is a Holy Day of Obligation. Mass times are as follows:

Mass times for All Souls Day, Wednesday, Nov. 2nd: 8:00 a.m. English 10:30 a.m. Portuguese 6:00 p.m. Spanish 7:30 p.m. English
Wednesday, Nov. 2nd, is a 2:30 p.m. dismissal day.
Picture Retakes If your child was absent on Picture Day in Sept., or forgot to bring the order envelope to purchase pictures, he/she will need to be photographed again on Tuesday, Nov. 8th.
Be sure to pick up an order form in the school office. If you received a picture package, but are unhappy with the picture that was taken,
send back the entire package intact, and your child will be re-photographed. Picture packages will go home with your child tomorrow.
Important Reminder Please sign-in at the School Office when you are on campus, and sign-out when you leave.
Do not go directly to your child’s classroom. This prevents unnecessary disruptions in the classroom, and ensures the safety of our students.

LITERARY CHARACTER DAY
Sacred Heart School is excited to announce that Literary Character Day will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016! This special day's purpose is to celebrate, draw attention to and promote the importance of reading. Each child has the opportunity to dress up to look like a character from a favorite book. Absolutely NO WEAPONS allowed (swords, light sabers, knives, etc.), or ghosts, goblins, zombies, witches, etc. Acceptable characters are Saints or characters from books such as Winnie the Pooh, Disney Stories, Charlotte's Web, etc. If you are unsure of a character, please ask your child's teacher. The following is a list of possible characters/books that you may find helpful. All characters MUST be approved by your child's teacher.
This is a Literary Character Day. Your support in helping to choose an
appropriate character/outfit is most appreciated.
Parents are invited and encouraged to join our Literary Character Day as well (with or without costume). Come and observe the Harvest Festival, sponsored by the Senior Student Council, from 1:15-2:15 p.m., and the Parade of Literary Characters on the playground at 2:30 p.m.
We encourage you to help make October 31st a fun and memorable day for
your child by participating in Literary Character Day 2016! Help us to promote the joy of reading!

Seeking Volunteers for Our Book Fair!
Dear Parents and Families, The Scholastic Book Fair will be at Sacred Heart School, and special Family Events are scheduled for the week of November 14th-18th. The Book Fair will be open during the following times: Nov. 14-15 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Nov. 16-18 11:45 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Volunteers are the motivators to help any Book Fair become a success. We hope that you share with us your skills to help students discover the power of reading. If you have some time to help us plan or conduct our next Book Fair, please complete the form below and circle the areas where you would like to help out.
