ISN’T LEARNING TO WRITE MORE IMPORTANT THAN LEARNING TO DRAW?

Kids have so much to learn these days, so why focus on learning to draw? Not only isdrawing a form of self-expression and creativity, but it’s very important for learning. You basically need to break down what you want to draw into parts, work out what todo first and then put it together on the paper. It’s about learning the skills of planning, organisation and attention to detail. Now we all want great pictures for to put up onthe fridge, but it’s just as important when kids get to school. They need to know how todraw shapes and graphs for maths, maps for geography and flowcharts for science.

SO WHY NOT JUST DRAW ON A BLANK SHEET OF PAPER?

Some kids with limited pencil control get frustrated when what they’re drawing doesn’tlook right. They may give up, get frustrated or flatly refuse to do it. These worksheets aredesigned to give the kids rewards for their efforts. Instead of the kids asking us to do itfor them, they get a completed picture which looks like it’s supposed to.
