Ways a business can encourage staff to give their best.
Helps the business to be more successful.
Can mean: Increased output as working harder Improved quality as taking pride in work Less absence

Job rotation
Job enrichment – giving them more challenging tasks
Empowerment – responsibility to make decisions about their work

Maslow believed that motivation lies within the individual employees
He suggested that people have a number of different needs
These needs are put in order of importance
Once a lower level need is satisfied, individuals strive to satisfy needs further up the hierarchy
