This week we learned all about ice, mittens, jackets, and snow. We
played in ice in our science center and even mixed colors to change
its appearance. We painted with ice cubes in our art center. We sorted buttons by size, used buttons with
letters on them to make words, made mittens with rhyming words, wrote about our jackets, and made earmuffs with missing addends. We
loved matching mittens with pictures to clips with the word on them and painting our igloos to
reveal rainbow words.

Items Needed!
If your child knows all 40
kindergarten words, I will be sending home an additional set of words. This is just for
practice and will help to continue to challenge
students and prepare for first grade.
o Practice writing numbers and words in the snow
o Watch the phases of matter- make ice, boil water to see the steam, etc.
o Make a snowman and create your own sequencing activity with pictures or drawings
o Have a scavenger hunt using positions words
o Count to 100 by ones, fives, and tens
o Find things that rhyme with snow, hat, cold, etc.
o Keep reading! Try discussing story elements: setting, plot, character, and conclusion.
