The plurality and multiplicity of the Indian Culture is evident to the whole world as India has one of the world’s largest collections of songs, music, dance, theatre, folk traditions, performing arts, rites and rituals, languages, dialects, paintings and writings that are known, as the ‘Intangible Cultural Heritage’ (ICH) of humanity. India believes in the adage “Unity in diversity”. People of different states are living together with different language, culture, and heritage. Dear children to understand the rich heritage of India and their ancient life style, ways of entertainment etc, you need to visit the famous heritage of India. Doing it in the right spirit with enthusiasm which will make it a great learning experience. Make sure that your work is neat, presentable, and original and conforms to the requirement. Let’s share some tips that we can follow to do our share in their protection: 1. Prevent ourselves and others from scribbling on the walls. 2. Participating in the regular Cleanliness Drives. 3. Being a part of the ‘Adopt a Heritage’ initiative 4. Spreading awareness around about these monuments and their importance. In today’s competitive world, we have to preserve the monuments and showcase them to the next generation as the contributions or achievements of our ancestors. A little effort from our side can create drastic changes that will make the present and the future generations of the country and the world proud of India. INSTRUCTIONS:

a. All the work done should be compulsorily handwritten. Children should not take printout

and paste. Homework will be assessed on the basis of research, presentation, originality and

reflection.

b. Holiday homework should be submitted on Monday, 1st July, 2019.

c. Make a balanced time table to ensure that learning is fun.

d. Play outdoors and learn new skill.

e. Read the instructions carefully given in each subject while doing your assignments.

f. Use your imagination and creativity for perfect presentation of your work.

g. We would appreciate if your work is done by you only. Parents can be facilitators.

h. To inculcate reading habit we would appreciate if you could read newspaper daily and at least

one book/storybook (Hindi/English) of your choice per week.

i. Learn 5 new words in English and list them in a note book.

j. Read bed time stories like ( Indian Folk Tales ,The Envious Man ,Fantastic Mr Fox, Danny the

champion of the world )

ENGLISH ● Compose a poem on ‘India of My Dreams’. ● Select any one state and make an interesting brochure appealing people to visit this place. Paste

pictures and incorporate facts related to places of tourist interest, cuisines, festival/culture and other

attractions.

work, contribution and personal life on A4 sheets. Paste relevant pictures too. Insert the sheets

SCIENCE ● India being a diverse country there are variety of languages, cultures and festivals celebrated

in our country

● Harvesting Time is celebrated with equal enthusiasm in different parts of India. India is the

only country with such crops harvested in different seasons.

Activity:

Make a collage on an A3 sheet depicting various harvest festivals celebrated in India

cultural patterns. India is an incredible tourist destination to the world.

Writing a travelogue includes detailed information about travel. Travelogue writing is

most effective when accompanied by illustration or relevant pictures.

Write a Travelogue of a place you visited this summer. It shall be of a file of A4

size sheets (minimum 4 pages) .

Include the following:

The name of the place you visited.

Locate the same in the political map of India

Local places of interest

Local cuisines

Local dresses worn by the people.

Your friend is coming from London and wants you to be the guide of your city. Plan an itinerary to

show him/her your city and prepare a file of A 4 size sheets (minimum 4 pages). Include the

COMPUTER 1) Children have to design a presentation on Open office impress / Microsoft PowerPoint or

Microsoft sway online and mail it the given id i.e. [email protected].

2) The Topic for the same is “Incredible India”. Prepare 6 slides comprising of introduction,

art & music, culture and tradition, heritage, cuisine and conclusion.

3) The students will be given 5 minutes to present their presentation in the classroom

after which a questionnaire will be there once they will come back after summer back.

The homework will be assessed on the basis of the following rubrics:

a) Content as per the relevance to the topic given
