PREFACE
“The teacher is not a dispenser of knowledge or a person “in charge” of the “educating” that goes on in the classroom. Rather, the teacher’s role is one of producing the climate, providing the resources, stimulating the students to explore, investigate and
seek answers. In a rich, pregnant environment, the teacher becomes a guide and facilitator rather than director.”
A person has not really learned unless he will apply all the knowledge that he had learned. This practice teaching that we had is the real test of what one has learned in his years of study in teaching-training institution. It is in here where a student teacher will apply the principles, theories, precepts, methods, information, skills, attitudes and values that one has learned in his years of schooling. It is in here where we can measure if a student is prepared or ready now on his career in the future.
There are many reasons why is it that nowadays there are many students who chose teaching as their profession someday. Maybe when he is still on his childhood stage he dreams to become a teacher. And as he goes on with his studies he will realize that teaching is truly a noble profession. Teachers who are intelligent, inspiring, creative, kind and considerate, open-minded, socially gracious and morally upright are always fondly remembered by heir students.
The reason why is it that this Portfolio is being made is that in order for us to relate diverse learning experiences that the author had meet in her four months of residing as a student teacher at the high school department wherein she really experience like a real teacher teaching in the classroom. This also contains documentary pictures in her different demonstration and some of her involvement as a student leader and other co-curricular activities that contributes in her training to do the different role of a teacher.
The Author desires that you will enjoy reading her journey as a student teacher and she hopes that you will gain knowledge from her experiences.

STUDENT-TEACHER’S PRAYER
Heavenly father, I come before you as your child; in great need of your help;I have physical health needs, emotional needs, spiritual needs,
and interpersonal needs. Many of my problems have been caused by my own failures,
neglect and sinfulness for which I humbly beg your forgiveness, Lord. But I also ask you to forgive the sins of my ancestors whose failures have left their
effects on me in the form of unwanted tendencies, behavior patterns and defects in body, mind and spirit.
Heal me Lord, of all these disorders. In our family tree, Lord replaces all bondage with a holy bonding in family love.
And let there be an ever deeper bonding with you, Lord, by the holy spirit, to your son Jesus let the family of the holy trinity pervade our family with its tender,
warm loving presence so that our family will recognize and manifest that love in all our relationships,
all of our unknown needs we include with this petition that we pray in Jesus precious name …AMEN

WORKING WITH SCHOOL PERSONNEL(Working with the Cooperating teacher)
The first time I met my cooperating teacher I felt nervous because for me she is very strict and aloof. Every time I approach her I am not at ease and I felt hesitant to tell my problems to her. But when I got to know her better I found out that I was wrong because she is kind, funny and witty! I am blessed with my cooperating teacher because she really wants to bring the best in me and for me to be trained that much in preparation to my future career as builder of young minds. She is young but she is really good in the subject matter and I was really challenged in having my demonstration teaching because I thought a subject that I considered as one of my Achilles heels. She encouraged me to do my best and focus. . I really learned much especially that she tries to expose me to the realities inside the classroom and in the school. She allow me to have as many demo teaching as I can for me to be trained that much and be ready for whatever problems that I will encounter when I will be in my Off-campus practice teaching. She is also very understanding for she understands me whenever I got absent because of some health problems.
Working with the Department Head
A good leader is a good follower. As you look at her, you will think that she is strict and terror. That is the reason why at first we are afraid to approach her. The reason I’m referring to is Mrs. Ernestina Carinugan, the department head of the science department. We first met her during our orientation. She came to our school to share to us the rules and regulation of Cagayan National High School, we will have our practice teacher. She don’t let us choose our cooperating teacher bur rather gave her some background of each teacher. As days pass I observed that she is very diligent. She come to school very early and roam around to see whether the teachers are teachings and to check if the surroundings is clean. Looking into the science head, she was really a good boss. In our first week there she assigns us to substitute a class and we accept it because I do believe that this will train as I continue to my practice teaching..

THE SITE OF PRACTICE TEACHING
CNHS (Cagayan National High School) is the biggest secondary school in Cagayan. And it is also considered as the most enrolled students in the whole Cagayan.
Imagine how big is this school, which composed of more or less than 100 classrooms. But in these 100 classrooms some only are conducive for learning. And I say so because there are some classrooms that have blackboard that have a big hole in which you can only use the half part of it. Some classrooms also have chairs that are destroyed and it is no longer usable. There are also some classrooms that don’t have proper ventilation and no waste can which makes the classroom very dirty. And all of their comfort rooms smells bad and very dirty. Garbage in the school is always full which makes the environment very odorous.
As they say small group is better than big group. This is because you can’t manage well the big group because of its wide scope compare to a small group. These environmental problems should not happen if only the students follow school rules and policies. And with this, managers in schools should implement rules and policies regarding this kind of problems. They should see to it that the rules and regulations should really be followed.
REFLECTION # 2 THE IMPORTANCE OF LESSON PLAN
Making detailed lesson plan is very difficult to do. Aside from time consuming, it will make you suffer from headache. And I say so because you will really think critically most especially on the objectives or what you want your students to learn not only that but also to the contents of your lesson.
For me, I experienced many sleepless nights because of making detailed lesson plans. As I have said it will consume more time to make one. First thing you do is to read first many books about the topic because you can’t able to produce lesson plan if you didn’t understand the topic. After understanding the lesson, formulate your objectives and I find difficult in formulating such. Next is your motivation. Actually it took me an hour to make motivation. It is difficult to make one in which your motivation should arouse the interest of the students. And it really needs to think critically. After completing all the parts of the lesson plan you will re-unite it which really consumed more time.
Semi-detailed lesson plan is easy than making detailed lesson plan. Because in semi-detailed lesson plan it take less time to make one compared to detailed lesson plan. Actually they are the same but the only difference is that in lesson proper you will only write the questions about the topic but in the detailed lesson plan you need to write the response of the students. See you will really consume less time in with this kind of lesson plan. But for me, if it talks about executing the plan I prefer detailed lesson plan because you will able to master your topic well if the students response is indicated in your lesson plan. You will also master the sequence or the organization of your lesson if the lesson plan is written in detailed
REFLECTION # 3
(My Expectations)
Before we deploy at Cagayan National High School, I have already this feelings of fear and nervous wherein I've told to myself that it's time for me now to be get ready and be prepared for all the things that might happen. This is now the time for me to experience sleepless nights for the preparation of lesson plans and visual materials, not only that one but also in mastering the lesson for execution.
I also expected that the results of my evaluations will not be that too high because I believe that I am still on the processing stage. Expect that even though you are intelligent person, for sure you still have weaknesses that you should improve and this is through the comments that the evaluators giving it to you after executing your plan. I will soon develop and gain more confidence when I am already in the field.
Of course at first, I felt nervous when I had my first demo teaching. There a lot of weaknesses that my cooperating teacher told me and I accepted this comments because with
this I will be able to improve or develop. I considered this practicum as a preparation for my future career that's why I am open to any comments that my cooperating teacher will tell me in order to develop my strengths as a future teacher.
REFLECTION# 4
My Observations
A. Whole School Observation
The school is a center for learning activities. It should be located in a place where children are safe from danger and free from noise or any other form of destruction that may disturb them while classes are going on. It should also provide pupils with services that will enhance their educational program.
Cagayan National High School, the Laboratory School where I had my practice teaching is really a school of high quality and has a good structure which is really a good avenue to receive a quality education. The services are adequate and the size of the whole compound is enough to make learning possible.
B. Classroom Observation
The Classrooms are conducive to learning. They are spacious, clean, orderly, properly lighted and well-ventilated but not all. There are enough chalkboard for lesson presentations and written exercises on the board. The teachers as well as the students are very creative and resourceful where in they decorated it with pictures and other materials appropriate to the current activity that the school is celebrating. These bulletin boards also be repaved every month and was graded by those evaluators for the search for the cleanness classroom.
