The Yuvardha Insider
Bringing you all the latest News, Views, Gossip and
more that you might have missed out during the day.
Day 1; Issue 1:26.9.2013
EDITORIAL
I have the distinct pleasure of presenting to you today the first ever Edition of “The Yuvardha
Insider”. Let me confess to you at the very beginning that after an intense process of selection I
have appointed myself to write this Editorial for you guys. It took a lot of coercing, blackmailing
and hounding my PR team mates for days together to get this job so be, rest assured that I’m the
best person to be doing this. Now, unlike other times rather than making this Editorial about
myself let’s focus on something a little more important (not by much though) that is Yuvardha III.
Yuvardha enters into its IIIrd Edition this time and not expected lines is bigger, better and
grander than ever before. We had teams pleading, bargaining and even threatening us sometimes
for slots but all said and done I think we have sufficiently managed to accommodate all interests
and requests to everybody’s satisfaction. The first day in my opinion was nothing short of
electric with frantic last moment registrations, rigorous practice sessions, intense matches,
injuries, tempers, passion everything packed into one( We would have made Karan Johar proud).
A few moments that personally stood out for me was GNLU „foreign‟ participants having a gala
Indian sporting experience and also giving the ladies the blushes, the RGNUL-NLUJ sporting
rivalry being on ample display, some guys repeatedly feeling thirsty( Chaandni, oh meri Chaandni?);
The spirit displayed by the NUJS contingent etc. This according to me best exemplifies what
Yuvardha stands for: a great ensemble of merit, passion, fun, frolic and emotions.
With this Newsletter we have tried to capture and bring to you all these emotions which in the
course of competition and rivalry somewhere might go unnoticed. In this edition we felicitate the
stand-out performers, bring you message dedications, list out the memorable one-liners and
much more to add to your Yuvardha experience. I hope you find it an interesting read. If there
are minor errors here and there; I hope you will pardon us and encourage us in our endeavour
this being our maiden effort at something like this.

HALL OF FAME(‘Star of the Day’)
In this section we recognise the stand out performers of the day. People whose efforts
lifted their sides and have shone through like a beacon making them the most
distinguished sportsmen of the day. In today’s edition we recognise the efforts of 2
people which stood out even in their team’s losing cause.
Varun Narayan Iyer(NLUJ): The feisty goal-keeper of the NLUJ football whose
valiant saves in the penalty shoot-out against RGNUL Patiala gave the home side a lot to
cheer about inspite of the match ending in favour of RGNUL. Varun pulled off an
almost match-winning effort despite having an injury on his lower thighs. We salute his
sporting spirit.
Vander(RGNUL): This well-built basketball player from RGNUL almost stole the
match from NLUJ with his consistent 3 point shots. At a time when the team suffered a
moral setback with the loss of their star player Perry, Vander stepped up and almost
managed to get the team to the brink of victory. We recognize and salute his fighting
spirit.
(On the next page we have photos of the men in action)

(If you want to say something to somebody, please drop a message in our ‘Message
Box’ in the Mess Arc area and we will publish it the next day).
‘ONE LINER’(Quote of the Day)
We often come up with great quotes especially in a competitive environment without even
realising how cool these one-liners are. So here’s the best 3 one-liners that our team overheard
on 26.9.2013.
1. Baal sambhalu, ki ball sambhalu- Women at Yuvardha( We sympathize)
2. Bahukhandi ko chood de . . .uski feel mat le!- NLUJ cheering squad to a totally disinterested
RGNUL football player.
3. “Ganpati Bappa Moriya”- GLC cheering squad( This one makes it for the sheer context-phrase
mismatch quotient)
EDITORIAL SNIPPETS(News that did not make it).
We wish Perry from RGNUL, Patiala a speedy recovery from his injury. You
have always been entertaining and we hope to see you back in action soon.( Wait,
was that just a sprain?).
There were love message dedications to Vatsala Kumar and Ajita Tandon from
NLUJ. But the PR team is shit scared of their boyfriends Viraj Gandhi and
Shikhar Saha and chose not to publish the same. (Lovers note that they already have
boyfriends!! Tch Tch)
A certain Moot Court Committee member confessed to us that Sagar Gupta
from NLUJ flirts with all the senior girls(Wonder who that could be?)
The PR team thinks that the message for the “hot Patiala guy from Chandigarh” is
for Vander and from a NLUJ Ist year girl.(Just playing Cupid)
There were also silent murmurs heard of a demand to make Candy Crush Saga
and Temple Run official sports in the next edition.
