WESTERN DIGITAL STORYIn 2011, Thailand experienced a terrific flood affecting millions of life and thousands of businesses in the country.

Under this circumstance, Western Digital, a high technology group with 38.000 employees, was also heavily damaged. The company was forecast to spend 1 billion USD and at least 7 months to recover. Some expected that was the end of Western Digital.

Interestingly, what happened was contrary to all specialists’ prediction. In fact, Western Digital resumed operations in just 46 days, spending only 200 million USD – far below the estimated cost. Within one year, they claimed the Number 1 position in their industry, achieving a 30% gross margins.
