Our initial feedback from exhibitors and the general feelingof the event we gathered on the ground would lead us to believe that this DEFENDORYwas probably the best international event we have attended in the last 12 months.

• During the 5-day period of this truly internationalevent, Delegations arrive in Athens from all parts ofthe world; Middle and Near East, Africa, Asia, Northand South America, Australasia and Europe. The Hellenic Ministry of National Defence extendsofficial invitations to the Ministries of Defence of 92countries for the visit of high-ranking Governmen-tal and Armed Forces Delegations to the Exhibition.

• An official 5-day visiting programme is preparedfor each of the Governmental and Armed ForcesDelegations. Escorted by Hellenic Armed Forces of-ficers, the official Delegations follow a daily standby stand visiting programme over the 5-day pe-riod, which enables them to visit all the NationalPavilions and individual participations throughoutthe Exhibition.

The “visiting programme” was first introduced in1982, and was successfully developed to consti-tute the trademark of «DEFENDORY». It requires asophisticated organization and complex planningdue to the large number of exhibiting companies,as well as attending Official Delegations.

It is worth mentioning that a team of 310 personsoperates for the successful execution of the visit-ing programmes, which include the arrangementof thousands of briefings and meetings betweenDelegations, exhibitors and officials.

Its proven results are based on the innovative conceptof the «DEFENDORY» Organization, which requiresall National Pavilions to form Delegation WelcomingCommittees comprised of members from their Min-istries of Defence and/or Industry Associations, inorder to self-administer the visits of the Hellenic andforeign Delegations within their National Area.

Highlights of «DEFENDORY 2010»The most important aspect of participation in an exhibition is the Official Delegations and their visit to the National Pavilions and stands of the Exhibitors. DEFENDORY 2010 will provide its Exhibitors, once again, with what it does best: high level and qualityDelegations with the most efficient Delegation Visiting Programme internationally. Over the years, DEFENDORY has hosted 1200 high-ranking Governmental and Armed Forces Delegationsfrom 102 countries, including 5 international military and security organizations.

This was Enterprise Florida’s second time to attend DEFENDORY and sponsor anofficial Florida Pavilion. The new DEFENDORY site proved to be a high profilelocation, providing easy access and more room for exhibitors. The show was wellorganized and attendance by trade visitors and official defence/military delegationslived up to the promises made by the Show Organizers!

The management of the delegation programme wasexemplary with a high number of official visitors from Greece and across the worldattending. The delegations were fairly and evenly spread over the duration of the showensuring a steady stream of visitors and a general buzz of activity.
