One thing that may make it hard to believe in God is that life
often seems unfair to us. Job persisted in his questioning because
deep inside believed God to be good and and fair, even though life
wasnt. There is a good answer to the question Job posted, one that
will satisfy both our heart and our mind. It will be found,
however, only by those who are willing to work through the pain and
unfairness of life and seek God.
Slide 5
We have stepped out of the boat and begin walking on water.
Sound impossible? It is in the natural, but not in the heavenly
realm of Gods kingdom. Simplified, the new man is reborn into
Christs own image leaving behind the understanding of this world to
be transformed into the next. He is in this world, but no longer of
this world (John 17:14-19). And the battle begins.John 17:14-19 The
honing of faith, as sanctification continues, comes in the
one-day-at-a-time journey of lifes obstacles, and this is where
focus requires our utmost attention. Focused on the wind and waves
of circumstance continually beating against us, we sink. Listening
to the voices and popular opinion of those still sitting in the
boat, we sink. Attempting to figure it out in our own power how to
stay afloat, we sink. If we are no longer of this world, but rather
in the Kingdom of God, then we are focused on Jesus Christ. As
Spiritual maturity grows and faith is strengthened on this daily
battleground of circumstances, perception changes and the big
picture begins to unfold. We are never given more than what is
required to stretch and build the faith in Christ needed to
overcome anything put before us. These muscles of faith being torn
down by the old to be rebuilt by the new bring us ever closer to
Gods ultimate design. The war has already been won on Calvary, but
we walk the victory daily through this valley of the shadow of
death. Wheres your focus? becomes the decisive battle cry. As the
world progresses in confusion and deception, the saints are ever
more attuned to the voice of the Savior as a result of the
day-to-day personal victories through the power of the Holy Spirit
indwelling within us.
