Vine Description

•  Good vigor, buds midseason. •  Berries are yellow, medium-sized, spherical, medium skin

thickness. •  Bunches medium sized, tapered, compact, often winged.

Productivity is good and consistent. •  Acceptable-to-good resistance to berry splitting and Botrytis. •  Good resistance to downy mildew and medium to powdery mildew. •  Ripens September 10-20 and tolerates cold winters (in Trentino).

Vine Description

•  Variety has good vigor, early budding, berry is long and elliptical, skin is medium thickness and blue-black in color. Bunches long, winged-conical, and straggly.

•  Productive and consistent with excellent resistance to berry splitting and Botrytis and some resistance to downy and powdery mildew.

•  Ripens late, late September - early October with good tolerance to cold winters (in Trentino).

•  Prefers medium-short cane pruning, the first fruitful bud is in the third-fourth position.

Wine Uses

•  The young wine is fruity, spicier with age. Good acidity. Deeply-colored and full-bodied.

•  The variety is very well suited for producing fruity young wine and with oak ageing can achieve wines of complex character.

•  It is also well suited for blending with other wines.

Vineyard location: Molini Alti - San Michele all’Adige (TN) - Italy

Site type: Molini plot, hilly area near the Agricultural Institute, south west

exposure. Calcareous soil, fine loamy texture, low organic matter content

and balanced nutrients. Elevation = 200m.

Planted: 2016, Training=Guyot, Planting density=2500/A (?)

Harvest: 2nd October 2018,°Brix=24

Vinification: maceration for 20 days at low fermentation temperatures

(22-23°C) with frequent pumping over and punching down, followed by

malolactic fermentation before racking into oak barrels for aging.

Alcohol=14%.
