Odd payments We have recently been posted some cheques & money orders to Windellama News without any accompanying details as to whom they are from and reason for payment. After some detective work Cathy and myself were able to work out one of them, with a remaining subscription payment (we assume) from someone. Cathy does many things but clairvoyance is not one of them. It would be greatly appreciated that when sending any payments you could pop in a note with your name & explanation for your payment. This would avoid confusion & uncertainty and especially your disappointment with our voluntary service to you.
Denise Johnson, Editor

FIELD DAY MEETING Next field day meeting will be
Tuesday 7th September at 7.00pm at The Hall
Everybody welcome to attend. Cathy
Thank you
My family and I would like to thank you for the sympathies extended to us in the last News. My mother lived in Melbourne, but she did make a few trips to Windellama, the last for Anthony’s and my birthdays in March this year. She also visited a Tuesday Craft Day at the Hall a couple of years ago which she enjoyed immensely.

There was one callout for the C.F.R. unit in the past month, this is the way we would prefer to have it.
The recent "letter drop" resulted in 6 new members for the S.E.S.
Five of these people will go on to become C.F.R. members, after the mandatory S.E.S.training is completed. The Ambulance Service will dictate when the C.F.R. training is to be done.
These new members will now ensure that our S.E.S. unit premises will become a reality.
I have been told, that it will still be about the end of the year before this happens.
A big thank you to the new members of our team, from the present members of the Windellama Group. Kevin Muffet Team Leader, Windellama S.E.S./ C.F.R

WINDELLAMA PROGRESS ASSOC. HALL Inc.
August has been a fairly quiet month for us all. The Garden Club held their “Cancer Day” at the hall this year and from all accounts it was most successful. The markets continue to grow in popularity, with both sellers and buyers enjoying the day.
The fit out of the bar will be complete by the end of August, with a timber floor to be installed, as well as a new roller shutter to be fitted. The new wall sheeting for the back of the hall has been ordered and will be installed shortly, completing the renovations.
Plans for the Field Day are progressing well. There will be plenty to see and do to keep everyone entertained and informed. The P. & C. Association will be organising the children’s activities again this year, with the old favourites – jumping castle, face painting, animal nursery etc.
We are looking for assistance on the day – if you are willing to give a few hours of your time to help us spread the work load, please contact me on 4844 5157, or email on [email protected] and I will pass your details on to our roster co-ordinator.
Our next meeting will be held on Monday 20th
September at 2 p.m. Please join us and share your ideas on how to move the community forward.
