The whole society could engage in a global dialogue about the future we want to create together;

What if ...

We had a common language that empowered ALL of society’s stakeholders to better understand and plan for an equitable and flourishing society;

Youth could create social, political and economic change, by doing what they most like to do: Have Fun!

In November 2011 , a few individuals, passionate about making this vision a reality, came together to explore how to best create

momentum for such change. They also started exploring the best processes for creating

synergies amongst ALL of society’s stakeholders. While connecting to others, it became clear that many people all

over the world shared a similar intention and commitment. With RIO+20 fast approaching and providing the needed momentum,

they realised that the time to come together and act is now!

As a result, 'One Future…. One Planet' Project was born.

Our objectives are to:

• Share a process and common language with both decision makers and participatory society to engage the whole society (all levels and all generations) in creation of an equitable and flourishing future.

• Support emergence of synergies amongst sustainability frameworks used to measure, compare and assess our progress towards such a future.

• Build up the momentum for action and strategy for global change while having fun and fostering the youth capacity to deal with the challenges such change entails.

Our purpose is to inspire and support the synergies and emergence of new forms of communities and collaborative networks that focus on

co-creating a future in which both people and Nature flourish together.

By bringing a common language to institutions, in the form of a Unifying Framework

By engaging Society and Youth in a Global Game for social change – “PlayThe Call”

First, let us tell you more about Global Dialogues

Global Dialogues is a five-step process - Connect, Envision, Engage, Reflect, and Share.

Dialogue is a powerful form of communication aimed at fostering mutual insight and common purpose, perfectly suited for transition times when people feel concerned about growing uncertainty and accelerated change.

The Global Dialogues process is designed to go further: to take participants on a journey through which they get to experience in their whole being the future and society they want, as a real and collective possibility.

Page 8: The whole society could engage in a global dialogue about the future we want to create together; What if... We had a common language that empowered ALL

The Global Dialogue process completes with the formation of action-teams, which are further supported through global and national platforms.Visit:http://newsynergies.org/global-dialogues/ Along the way participants

discover their own knowledge and ability to contribute to this future, as well as the desire to make it happen through co-creative and collaborative actions.

In the words of Participants…“It was so enriching to meet and interact with people who all want to see and act for a change in the way we live. After attending Global Dialogues, I realise that I am not alone. Indeed, even individually I can take small steps that can make a difference and contribute to a sustainable future.”

“It was a very enriching experience especially the envision part, which I think is the essence of the session. “

“I found it amazing how people regardless of sphere, background, generation, gender, culture or social class could come together and generate such a wide array of ideas and solutions.”

The Global Dialogues are being held all over the world - bringing together people from all kinds of backgrounds, cultures, ages, and positions.

Global Dialogues aim to:

• Inform national leaders who are representing their own country at the International UN Conference Rio +20 in June, about the kind of future, that we, as a society, want to create together. All the Global Dialogues Country Reports will be combined into one Global Report that will be presented to the UNCSD during Rio+20.

• Bring to life the national sustainability efforts that in many countries lack a multi-stakeholder participatory process that inspires people to take action at their local level , and in doing so:

• Awaken and empower the social dimension of change for a more sustainable and flourishing future and society.

Page 11: The whole society could engage in a global dialogue about the future we want to create together; What if... We had a common language that empowered ALL

The Global Dialogues will culminate into the Rio+20 side event called a 1.000 Tables Dialogue, with 10.000 people and 1 000 facilitators involved. People around the world will be invited to host Global Dialogues simultaneously and, with the help of technology, connect to the main event in Rio. This idea is inspired and supported by the organising team of Tel Aviv (Israel) 1 000 Tables that took place on September 11th 2011.

Developers and users of sustainability frameworks such as ZERI, Natural Capitalism, Cradle to Cradle, GRI, TNS (just to name a few), will be invited to co-create the Unifying Framework concept to support alignment and synergy amongst existing sustainability tools and frameworks. A Unifying Framework will integrate the strengths and essentials of the most commonly used sustainability frameworks while also including any critical missing elements.

Natural Capitalism Solutions - http://natcapsolutions.org/ - has agreed to be the official host for the ‘One Future.. One Planet’ Project.

This framework will be communicated to UNCSD at Rio+20 and after that, become a resource to support planning and implementation of sustainable development society in all relevant domains.

It will also serve to nurture a common language to bridge the gaps among governments, businesses and society.

The Global Dialogues contributes to the co-creation of a Unifying Framework by supporting the whole society to create a shared vision for the future, reflect and learn more about our current situation on local and global levels, and inspire collaborative actions to bridge the gap.

GAME RULES - 5F’s

One Future … One Planet" is collaborating with ‘PlayTheCall’ project in the following ways:

•Connect the 1. 000 Tables event with the pre-launch of “PlayThe Call” at Rio +20 to create the youth momentum and participation within the international conference context (Game official launch - Dec 2012). •Provide the Unifying Framework concept to support the game in ensuring that the tasks and actions, taken by players, are leading towards full sustainability.•Help develop the ‘Impact Meter’ to measure sustainability impact within the game.

Progress up to dateThe project will be presented at the Stockholm+40 Conference in April 23-25, 2012

Global Dialogues already happened in Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Burundi region (involving Ruanda, Kenya, Congo and Uganda), and Mauritius Islands. Global Dialogues already planned: Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, New Zealand, Mexico and Brazil.

“PlayTheCall” will be presented at the Stockholm+40 Conference.

Around 20 volunteers are working on the project, representing the following countries: Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Mauritius, New Zealand, USA, UK, Spain, Brazil, Portugal, Belgium, Japan and Mexico.

We connected with a web-based TV from Brazil, “TV Meio-Ambiente”, specializing in ecological matters, which will broadcast Rio+20 live including the 1000 Tables event.
