Open enrollment will soon be upon us. The dates this year to
make any changes regarding your medical, dental, vision and
more are October 24 - November 14
One of the biggest changes for employees is that biometric
screenings will no longer be offered at open enrollment clinics
around the city. Instead, you will save money on your medical
premium deductions when you and/or your covered spouse or
qualified domestic partner have a well visit with your in-network
Primary Care Physician (PCP) and complete the online Health
Risk Assessment (HRA). When completed, an employee or their
covered spouse/domestic partner will save $30 per month.
When both complete the process, the savings will increase to
$45 per month.
Please remember to include seven pieces of biometric data in
your HRA: blood pressure, glucose, height, weight, waist
circumference, total cholesterol, and HDL. For your incentive to
take effect on January 1, 2017, you must have your well visit
occur no later than November 1, 2016 and you must
complete your HRA with biometric data no later than
November 14, 2016. If the PCP visit and/or the HRA are
completed after these dates, but before January 1, 2017, your
incentive will begin in February 2017.

them with a loyalty rewards card that gives a 10th

brewed coffee or tea, but if you prefer one of the
Starbucks signature drinks, the price of a grande-

REWARDING LOYALTY
“Giving Back is an Adventure” is the theme of the
2016 Community Service Fund Drive, and now it’s
time to get started.
One way many city
employees have chosen
to give back in previous
years is through a tax
credit to the Helping the
Working Poor fund
through Valley of the Sun
United Way. Once you
donate, your tax credit
goes to a qualified
charitable organization
and you receive a state tax credit. It gets even
better — the tax credit amount has doubled from
last year to $400 for an individual and $800 for a
married couple. Everyone wins when you make a
tax credit donation.
Find out more about how to start, or continue,
giving back at CSFD’s web site.
TIME TO GIVE
In case you missed City Manager Ed Zuercher’s
recent email, a city employee recently became the
victim of an email phishing attack. The employee
received an email appearing to come from the help
desk, even though it actually had an unrecognizable
(normally a ‘@Phoenix.gov’ address) sender
name. After clicking on the information, the
employee’s emails were rerouted to an unknown
address.
A couple of reminders to keep you safe while online:
The email address for the ITS Help Desk and
other similar internal email addresses will always
have a ‘@phoenix.gov’ as part of the name.
You will NEVER get an email from the city
manager or any city executive asking for your or
anyone else’s personal or sensitive information,
such as HR or payroll information outside the
standard process.
DO NOT click on links in a suspicious email.
Even if a message looks legitimate, do not reply
or respond to it. Make your supervisor aware of
it and appropriate staff can be notified.
It is always better to be safe, so do not hesitate
to question and report something unusual or
something that does not look right. Remember,
“See Something, Say Something.”
If you receive something suspicious, email or call:
[email protected], [email protected], or
Chief Information Security Officer Randell Smith at
256-4190.

The National Park Service turns 100 this year and in celebrating
this milestone, the Phoenix Airport Museum has opened an art
exhibition titled, Find Your Park in Arizona, which showcases
the diverse range of
Arizona’s National Park
offerings. Each of
Arizona’s parks is
represented with a diverse
range of historic images
and objects, including a
slab of petrified wood
that lived 225 million
years ago.
On August 25, 1916, President Woodrow Wilson signed a bill
creating the National Park Service. To mark this occasion, two
guest National Park Rangers working in Arizona’s Parks will be
on hand to answer questions and provide more information at
the exhibition. Details:
