Leadership Skills. This week four students, along with Dean of Students Mr Dempsey and Coordinator of Student Services Ms Stunkel, attended a Leadership Day Conference offered by Sterling House in Stratford. Senior Tori Schuchmann, Juniors Mary Lockwood, Matthew DiCairano, and Sophomore Michael Schuchmann were selected to attend this conference that focused on community leadership and civic responsibility. The sessions emphaisized the power of effective commiunciation skills, and how influential actions are when empwered by a well articulated vision. In the ‘Vision Boards’ exercise, the students built positive word collages for what they wanted to see happen in the next year, the next five, the next ten. The vision motivates the implementation, and the vision of this day was to develop tomorrow’s “influencers.” We look forward to their immediate impact on St Joe’s.
