I stepped on the scale and was hitwith the reality that at 23
years oldand a smidgen over 5 feet tall, I wasonly 7 pounds away
from 300
pounds. Over the course of 7 years,by changing my diet and
walking o nmy TrekDesk, I lost 150 pounds andgained confidence for
the first timein my life.
Spurred by the devastating news ofthe earthquake in Haiti
followed bythe tsunami in Japan, I began toinvestigate ways that I
could help.My work at filtersfast.com led me toresearch the water
crisis. I was
blown away by what I found! Peopleall over the world, most of
themchildren, are dying from a lack ofclean water.
In places like Africa, women and children walk for hours every
day just to g etaccess to this water that will eventually harm
them. As a working mother of 2,I asked myself, What can I do to
change an issue so big? Thats when it hitme. I can walk for
them!
The W3 Project was born.
