As much of the nation remembers and reflects on the unforgettable events of 9-11 on its 10th anniversary, we want to use this day as a time of consecration and commitment. Almost 10 years ago to the day, we opened up the doors on a new, multi-use, highly accessible facility with a commitment to impact our community. People flooded in those first few days after 9-11 to pray, console, and reflect on the far-reaching tragedy. it was a sign of things to come as we became more deliberate about opening our arms to the community.
On Sunday, Sept. 11, we will renew our collective vision to reach into our community with the love and message of Jesus Christ. Following regular Bible classes, we will have a combined worship assembly followed by a congregational luncheon and afternoon devotional service (no evening service).
To symbolize our renewed commitment to actively reach the community and to express our appreciation to those who serve our community, we will also have a special outreach project that afternoon. Teams of volunteers will deliver brisket meals and care packages to many of our fire fighters and police officers, and we will serve a brisket meal to our friends at Reed’s Landing.
