On this school year Mr. Jeffrey Lash made a lot of changes that

affected the students in the school. For example the lunch sys-

tem, now we need to buy our snacks online and now we cant

pay with money. Another thing is that Mr. Lash prohibited sodas

and chips. That is really sad because everyone liked soda at

lunch. Also he is making us buy healthy lunch at

the cafeteria when we have our own lunch at our houses and I feel it is better. I wish Mr.

Lash would bring back the things we like because then our Lunch would be no fun any-

more since we got hyped with our soda. Changing the topic, I think the seniors assembly

was very fun. It was very fun because the seniors made a very fun activity. What they did

was that they made a contest asking many students in high school questions and making

them do fun activities. Also I think the video they made was very fun because it showed

many movies I like from Dr. Seuss. I think the only good thing that the principal incorpo-

rated in the school was the 5 extra minutes we have in lunch. But it is also bad because

now we get out of school at 2:35 instead of 2:30. Everyone is hating on a kid named Lucas

Tello because everyone is saying that he made the idea of this system. Also another bad

thing Mr, Lash did was he prohibited hoodies in school. That was a very bad decision be-

cause most of the students in the school like to use hoodies. During the high school assem-

bly a girl shouted to Mr. Lash that he cannot prohibit the hoodies in school. In advisory

class mr lash put health lessons. I think that is bad because it would make things uncom-

fortable with the other students. Also I don't like that idea because I like to read

and Mr. Lash is taking away our time to read. In the Cafeteria if you order food online you

get a fast pass and you don't make the line. I think the school need to make some changes

if they want their students be happy again. I think a student that wanted to change the

school rules need t o run for student council. In the personero elections the candidates were

jose Puccini and Danielle Juliao. I personally think these 2 candidates wont make a much

difference because it is every year people say the same things. Maybe when im older I wll

run for stuco, I already have experience because I was student council in elementary. I

think I would make a change in this school.

The Tennis Us open 2013 is starting this August 27. This is the most important tournament of

all grand slams. They are the ones who give more money. Players from all over the world are

gathering to play this tournament which is one of the most important tournaments In the

year. This year Colombia has many representatives such as Santiago Giraldo, Alejandro Falla,

Robert Farah , Juan Sebastian Cabal and Alejandro Gonzalez. These players have many expec-

tations from the viewers because they have been working hard and preparing well to play

this tournament. The players with more chances to win this tournaments are Roger Federer ,

Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray. These players are the ones with more chanc-

es since they are the top 4 and they have more experience in this tournaments. I think the

Colombian doubles team are the ones with more chances since they have done well in the

past tournaments. In 2017 the usopen will make a air conditioning closed roof for the Arthur

Ashe stadium in which they will spend 1 million dollars. Us tennis player James Blake retired

yesterday after losing to Ivo karlovic. He lost in five sets in a close match against the Croatian.

The players for Colombia lost in the first round. Santiago Giraldo lost to a fellow latin players

named Carlos berlocq it was a very close match due to that they played 5 sets. The people

from Colombia were very disappointed to due that they were the only representatives from

Colombia. A 17 year old girl named Victoria Duval defeated 10 seed from the tournament Sa-

mantha Stosur. This was a very tough mach for the two because Stosur played against a new

playstyle. It was very tough to Duval because it was the 1st time she played a major tourna-

ment. Even though she was the youngest in the pro tournament she could easily win the US

open junior championship. This tournament has a lot of surprises and it has more surprises

to come because it only started on Monday.
