Let’s give a round of applause to this month’s featured employee, Carmen Kinkle! She is the lead caregiver in Villa C, and has been a part of our Villas family for the last 2-1/2 years. Carmen says that she enjoys devoting her time, and she loves to make a difference with our residents. She says that she can’t even imagine doing anything else! Carmen was born in Mexico and has four children. When Carmen has a little time to herself, you will probably find a book in her hand because she loves to read. Thank you Carmen! Studies show sitting up with your spine straight and shoulders back can make you feel happier and more confident. Psychologists say this simple physical change lowers stress hormones and increases happiness hormones, which can cue the brain to switch to a more positive and poised state of mind. Sky Watch: Full Harvest Moon The night of Sept. 27 will bring the biggest and brightest full moon of the year for North America, the Harvest Moon. This moon is nearest the autumnal equinox, and was named because it allowed farmers to work by moonlight to bring in their crops. Resident Patricia Pike loves to spend time doing arts and crafts here at The Villas. Getting to Know Our Fabulous Neighbors Before Patricia Pike made her way to Tucson, Arizona, she grew up in West Virginia. There she made friends and memories while attending school at Webster Springs High. Patricia’s professional experience includes working at a candy store during her younger days. Later on, she got a job as a customer service caller. Arts & crafts, as well as travel, are among a few favorite hobbies that Patricia has enjoyed throughout her life. She has traveled to such places as Japan and Australia! Another one of her favorite things is her nephew, “Boo.” She says that she just loves him to death! We are so glad that you are a part of our neighborhood, Patricia Pike!
