The U.S. Government has been designed to help junior high, high school, and adult educationstudents gain a better understanding of the many activities and services of the United Statesgovernment.
There are 24 lessons. Each lesson consists of four study pages which reinforce 14 points to belearned about each topic.
Study Page #1 – Crossword puzzle answers are located in one resource book, the World BookEncyclopedia. Important: Students should take note of the lesson title in order to know whichvolume of the encyclopedia they must refer to for answers.
Study Page #2 – Definitions can be found in the glossary. Evaluation questions are intended to givestudents an opportunity to express personal opinions about aspects of each topic.
Study Page #3 – Fill-in-the-blank questions are provided to give students a chance to review the14 points learned in the crossword puzzle.
Study Page #4 – Matching tests are included to further reinforce key terms and concepts.
Suggestions for Use:
Day #1: Introduce students to the new lesson. Provide crossword puzzle page and World Bookencyclopedias. Have students work alone or in small groups. Pair faster students with slowerstudents.
Day #2: Write the entire list of answers on the blackboard so that those students who have notcompleted their puzzles may key in on the important concepts. Conduct teacher-student discussionon various aspects of the 14 points included in the puzzle.
