The Upanisad-s are a series of texts originating in the Veda-s, some even dating approximately to 1500BC. Typically these teachings were presented through oral tradition, handed down from teacher to student over many generations. The Upanisad-s offer a variety of teachings presented in part through philosophical manner, while at other places in a very practical mode.
Most of the Upanisads tell the story of enlightenment in simple, poetic language that will inspire every ardent seeker. Each Upanisad, complete in itself, expresses the full glory of the inner Self and/or hold inspirational parables that are drenched in mythology and and metaphors. Often the Upanisad-s do not provide easy answers, but rather provide a platform that leads the seeker to discover the questions, their answers and ultimately the true nature of the questioner itself. Almost all of the six Vaidika Darsana-s find inspiration in the Upanisad-s to establish their paths. Thus the Upanisad-s become a key and integral learning component for every serious seeker and student of any of the philosophical systems based on the Veda-s.
This online seminar study group series will explore some of the most principal Upanisad-s and their essential interpretations in a practical and yet profound manner. Wherever indepth meaning is needed, word-to-word meanings will also be offered. All sessions will be recorded and sent to participants for further reference. All sessions will be conducted through Skype Audio mode.

All times are Indian Standard Time (IST), which is GMT+4:30 hours. Participants can choose which batch (Friday or Sunday) to
be a part of. Those who miss a session from one batch can join the other batch to catch up within the same week. Dates for
meetings after September 2013, will be announced towards end of August 2013.
