The Collegiate High School at UniversityThe Collegiate, established in 1873 within Wesley College, offers an exceptional high school program to students in Manitoba and from over 30 countries around the world. As a private high school within the University of Winnipeg, The Collegiate has maintained its unique character and hosted generations of innovative and passionate minds.

Professional, Applied and Continuing Education (PACE)

UWPACE offers a variety of industry-focused, job-ready and general interest courses, as well as certificate and diploma programs aimed at enhancing employability and earning potential.

English Language Program (ELP)

The University of Winnipeg’s English Language Program offers Academic Pathway, General and Foundations English programs, Intensive English programs, the Canadian Work Experience Program, TESL certification, and customized programs.

Graduate Studies

The University of Winnipeg Graduate Programs offer diverse opportunities for graduate students, featuring a multidisciplinary approach allowing students to expand their learning and network with other scholars.

Opportunities to Excel

Dual Credit Courses

Dual credit courses are introductory first-year university courses for which qualified grade 12 Collegiate students may enroll. Upon successful completion of a dual credit course, students will receive the designated university credit AND the high school credit for the course. Examples of dual credit courses offered by The Collegiate faculty are:

University Foundation Program

International students who have earned a high school diploma in their home country, but do not meet university entrance requirements can complete the Foundation Program at The Collegiate during the spring and summer sessions (May– August). Students will complete 5 academic courses to earn a Manitoba high school diploma, and upon successful completion students will be eligible to apply to universities/colleges for September entrance.

Accelerated Status

Students who have earned at least 22 credits and completed at least one credit at the Grade 12 level may apply to accelerate their university program while simultaneously completing the courses necessary to meet high school graduation requirements.

Seamless Admission to The University of Winnipeg

All Collegiate students who meet the entrance requirements for The University of Winnipeg based on grade 12 interim marks will receive an acceptance offer in January. Seamless students receive their first choice in University course selection and timetable options.

Concurrent Status

Students applying to The University of Winnipeg and who require three or fewer high school credits to fulfill regular university entrance requirements can complete the missing high school requirements at The Collegiate while taking an approved course load at The University of Winnipeg.

In addition to the regular high school program, The Collegiate offers unique pathways for international students to excel.

Homestay Application $450 Submit this one-time placement & Placement Fee fee with your homestay application form.

Homestay Fee $700 Includes airport pickup, private bedroom, shared bathroom, and food.

Total (For First 90 Days) $2550* After 90 days, a reduced homestay fee of $675 must be paid directly to the homestay family.

Residence University of Winnipeg Residence is available for Collegiate students over 18 years old. Residence includes new, modern single and double dorm-style units, as well as nearby homes that have been renovated to provide single furnished rooms with a shared kitchen and living space.

HomestayInternational Collegiate students will be matched with an English-speaking host family in Winnipeg. Living in a private home, sharing meals and recreational activities is a great way to experience Canadian culture and improve your level of conversational English. Homestay is mandatory for students under 18.

Collegiate Fees

Health Insurance

International students, who obtain a valid study permit issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) for a minimum of six months and also live in the province of Manitoba for a minimum of six months in a calendar year, are eligible to receive Manitoba Health Care coverage.

International Collegiate students upon their arrival to Winnipeg will be required to apply for their Manitoba Health card.

An extended health insurance coverage offered by Guard.Me will also be mandatory.

Scholarships

A limited number of Entrance Scholarships of $1,000 CDN are available for new international students. Students are automatically considered upon receipt of their final transcript. To be eligible for consideration students must have a high academic achievement in their previous academic years.

Application ProcessEntrance Requirements:

After receipt of a final transcript, an academic evaluation will be conducted to determine grade level placement. Students must receive a passing mark in all core subjects to be considered for placement in the next academic level. Upon arrival to The Collegiate students may receive an English and mathematics assessment to further determine grade level placement for English and mathematics.

Application Process:

STEP 1: Complete the International Application Form and pay the non-refundable application fee of $150.00. Submit an official and final transcript (not a photocopy) of all high school grades. Include an interim report if you are currently in school. Results from an approved English Language Assessment must also be included with the application. Submit the application package to*:

*The application package may be faxed (204.775.1942) or emailed ([email protected]) for immediate review for acceptance. However, the original transcripts and other documents must be mailed to the Collegiate prior to registration.

STEP 2: Successful applicants will be notified by email with an ‘Offer of Acceptance’ letter. Upon receipt of the ‘Offer of Acceptance’ letter, a full tuition payment is required.

STEP 3: Upon receipt of tuition fees, The Collegiate will issue an Official Letter of Acceptance, tuition receipt and notarized Custodian Declaration which are to be submitted by the student to the Canadian High Commission.

STEP 4: A personal interview with the International Student Advisor is required prior to registration. The results of the interview and assessment(s) will be used to confirm grade level placement and registration.

University of Winnipeg Collegiate Refund Policy:

A full tuition payment of $12,500.00 CAD is required prior to receiving an Official Letter of Acceptance used for immigration purposes. In the event of a refusal of a study permit, all monies will be refunded back to the payee less a $100.00 administration fee. Proof of refusal of a study permit will be required prior to issuing a refund.

After receiving your Official Letter of Acceptance and for any reason other than a refused Study Permit, you choose not to attend The Collegiate, a tuition deposit of $2,500.00 will be non-refundable.
