INTRODUCTION

he Careers Advisory Service (CAS) of the Labour Department promotes_ careers education through the provision of careers information to facilitate

young people in choosing-a career best suited to their talents, interests and abilities. Itsobjectives are to help young people develop their career decision in an informed way andto provide careers teachers with information back-up in conducting their careers guidanceduties.

currently operates two careers information centres (CICs)in Wanchai and Mongkok. Each centre is equipped with areference library consisting of publications on careers and

training opportunities, an audio-visual unit and an enquiry service on careers information.

T his catalogue lists out all the titles of careers pamphlets, job sheets, careerseducation films, sound-on-slide presentations, video tapes and cassette-tape

recordings on careers seminars. For other reference materials such as prospectuses oflocal and overseas educational institutes, guides to vocational training, careersopportunities in civil service, departmental reports, company reports, literature andjournals on professional bodies, please refer to the library index of the CICs.

employment conditions, entry requirements, training and promotion prospects of variousindustries and jobs. Members of the public are welcome to take them free of charge.
