The season is now 2/3 of the way through, and after Saturday’s game against Dodges everyone is looking forward to a weekend off with the bye. All three sides have shown positive signs this season. It has been particularly pleasing to see the continual improvement, in particular by the colts and seniors. The seniors showed last week that they can com- pete with everyone in the competition, having a solid display and taking it right up to New Norfolk. The reserves have been solid all season and I am sure will get over the minor hiccup they had against New Norfolk last week. The colts under Scotty Bester have become a solid unit and should win more games before the season’s end. We still have 3 home games to go and are always looking for extra help on match days. It takes a lot of help to run the club on home games. This includes finding bar staff, canteen staff, 4 people to man the gate, people to sell the raffles and margin tickets and a couple of people to man the BBQ and wet area. On top of this, on the football side we need 3 match managers, people to man the scoreboard and time-keep in each game, water boys, trainers, interchange stewards and at the start of each day people to set up the ground. The day finishes off with people cleaning the ground and clubrooms. In this context I’d like to thank those people who tirelessly help each week, they have done a great job. If anyone reading this letter can lend a hand for an hour or so please let me know. Extra help is always most welcome. Finally I’d like to wish the three sides all the best for the last part of the season, in what we hope is a lead up to another finals campaign in each grade. The season is now 2/3 of the way through, and after Saturday’s game

against Dodges everyone is looking forward to a weekend off with the

bye. All three sides have shown positive signs this season. It has been

particularly pleasing to see the continual improvement, in particular by

the colts and seniors. The seniors showed last week that they can com-

pete with everyone in the competition, having a solid display and taking it

right up to New Norfolk. The reserves have been solid all season and I am

sure will get over the minor hiccup they had against New Norfolk last

week. The colts under Scotty Bester have become a solid unit and should

win more games before the season’s end.

We still have 3 home games to go and are always looking for extra help

on match days. It takes a lot of help to run the club on home games. This

includes finding bar staff, canteen staff, 4 people to man the gate, people

to sell the raffles and margin tickets and a couple of people to man the

BBQ and wet area. On top of this, on the football side we need 3 match

managers, people to man the scoreboard and time-keep in each game,

water boys, trainers, interchange stewards and at the start of each day

people to set up the ground. The day finishes off with people cleaning the

ground and clubrooms. In this context I’d like to thank those people who

tirelessly help each week, they have done a great job. If anyone reading

this letter can lend a hand for an hour or so please let me know. Extra

With only six roster games remaining for season

2010 I thought I would provide an update on our

season so far.

We currently sit in third spot on the ladder with

nine wins and three losses with four teams below

us with breathing down our necks.

When we are on top of our game we are very hard

to stop but we still have issues with playing four

quarters of football. We need to find some consis-

tency before the finals start.

Last week we had a disappointing loss to New Nor-

folk. How we bounce back from the defeat, will

say a lot about our character and desire to play for

each other and for the Lindisfarne Football Club.

If we are to progress to the highs that I believe we

can achieve then we must all start making a sacri-

fice for each other on the field, off the field and on

the training track. We need to be improving and

not become satisfied or content with our season so

far.

Some players who have had a good season so far

are; Dave Smith who leads our goal kicking with 32

goals and he has been helped out by Mark Ruther-

ford who is finding some consistent form up for-

ward. Jeremy Pfeiffer regularly finds himself in the

best players and has shown good form for the

whole year. Ricky Batt always plays the game hard

and has grown into a leader within the team. On

regular occasions Chris Turner sacrifices his own

game to play his part for the team.

The rest of the season promises to throw some

challenges at us. We need to meet the challenges

head on and produce some good results.

Stay Frosty!

Reserves Round 13 Report

On Saturday we travelled to Boyer oval to take on New Norfolk in

perfect conditions.

The Eagles jumped us early in the game and played with intensity

on their home turf and we found it difficult to find any momentum

especially up forward were we wasted some opportunity on goal

and we went into the first break chasing a four goal deficit.

To our credit we fought back into the game by playing some hard

in and under football led by Ricky 'Batty' Batt, Andrew 'Toungy'

Clarke and Matt 'Stoney' Stone and by three quarter time we were

only down by 2 points.

The last quarter was disappointing in the fact that we didn’t fight the

game out and we finished the game with a five goal loss.

Our preparation was low key and this cost us. If we are to progress

to the highs that I believe we can achieve then we must all start

making a sacrifice for each other on the field, off the field and on

the training track. We need to be improving and not become satis-

fied or content with our season so far.

Other players who played well were Mick ‘Micka' Hemming, who

steamed out of the backline all day and took on all that fronted him.

Mitch 'Lil' Leale also provided some smarts in the backline.

In the forward line Mark 'Rudders' Rutherford provided headaches

for the opposition and Jeremy 'Jezza' Pfeiffer scored two goals while

playing on the ball. Chris 'CT' Turner continues to sacrifices him-

self for the team.

Next week we are back at home to play an improving Dodges

Ferry. We need to improve on last week’s effort and get back on

the winners list.

gardless of what time it is.” (Kevin Sheedy on James Hird)

FOR THE LADIES……………

“I’ve never had major knee surgery on any other part of my

body”. (Luke Darcy)

Q: What do you call an

intelligent, rich, good

looking, sensitive man?

A: A rumour..!!!

A couple are lying in

bed. The man says,

'I am going to make you

the happiest woman in

the world.'

The woman replies, 'I'll

miss you...'

'It's just too hot to wear

clothes today,' Jack says as

he stepped out of the

shower,

'Honey, what do you think

the neighbours would think

if I mowed the lawn like

this?'

'Probably that I married

you for your money,' she

replied.

One day my housework-

challenged husband de-

cided to wash his Sweat-

Shirt.

Seconds after he stepped

into the laundry room, he

shouted to me, 'What setting

do I use on the washing ma-

chine?'

'It depends,' I replied. 'What

does it say on your shirt?'

He yelled back, ' Liverpool '

And they say blondes are

dumb...
