The T r in i ty T id ing s To share the love of God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, by loving one another,
loving our community, and putting our faith into action.
B y now we are all shockingly aware of the destruction and damage done by Hurricane Harvey in Texas, and the
overwhelming need they have, and will have for some time to come, for relief and support. You might watch the news or hear about what is happening in Houston and surrounding areas and ask yourself, “What can I do?”, or “What should be our response?” Please know that there is much we can do now and, sadly, much that will need to be done for many months to come. First of all, there is prayer. We can always pray. I ask your prayers for the Diocese of Texas, its Bishop, Clergy, and people, and for all those who need our help. In addition to prayer we can also help and give of our time and money. Bishop Sloan sent out a letter recently with some information on what we can do to help. Please feel free to check the diocesan website for the Diocese of Texas for updates from their Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Andy Doyle. To give online, please look at the following websites:
• Episcopal Relief and Development – Hurricane Harvey Response Fund: www.episcopalrelief.org
• The Episcopal Diocese of Alabama – Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund: www.dioala.org
• The Episcopal Diocese of Texas – Flood Relief: www.epicenter.org
If you would like to donate money or supplies locally you can do that through the Salvation Army or the Red Cross. I’m sure there will also be several volunteer opportunities once it is safe to move in to the affected areas. Again, please keep all the people of Texas and the surrounding area in your prayers.

In an effort to become a more prayerful community, we are going to meet once a month to pray for our needs and the needs of others. PRAYER TIME will be held in the Parlor on the first Monday of each month at 10 a.m. However, because of the Labor Day holiday, we will have our first prayer meeting on Monday, Sept. 11.

S eptember is almost upon us and it will be full of fun activities and events that we hope you will take advantage of. There are two activities I especially encourage
you to take part in -- our White Elephant sale on September 16 and the Parish Retreat Sept. 29-Oct. 1. The flyer for the White Elephant Sale is on page 7 and registration forms for the Parish Retreat are in the Church and Office. If you have any questions about either event, I would be happy to give you more information! For our White Elephant sale we invite youth, Club 456 and parents to help with sale. I would like to get people to sign up for shifts of 1-2 hours. If you know you can come from 7-9 a.m., for example, please let me know! All children are invited to join us at Skyzone beginning at 4 p.m. after the White Elephant Sale. Children under 5 will need a parent to accompany them. We will jump for one hour and pickup will be 5:15-5:30 p.m.
