The total land area of Turkey is 814,578 squire km.Turkey is divided into 7 geographical regions. The

geographical feature and the climate of each region is different. For this reason, nutrition culture of each region is different too.

As an example; The Black Sea Region is always rainy and has a temperate climate. The Flora of the region is forest. The region comes first in terms of forests. It is the region of maximum rainfall.

Tea, nut, and corn have an important role in the regional economy and nutrition.

On the contrary of the Black Sea Region, the climate is hot and dry in summers , cold and snowy in winters in the Central Anatolia Region.

The economy of the region depends on the agriculture. Most of the people work on the farm. But the most important problem of the agriculture is about irrigation. The most widely grown product is wheat. The others are grapes, lentils, oats, rye, sunflowers, sugar beet, and variety of fruits and vegetables.

Our region is the grain warehouse of Turkey.

Although Hüyük is in the Mediterranean region as geographically, it bears the features of the Central Anatolian Region.

Our economy depends on the agriculture and animal breeding(husbandry). Additional to wheat and barley, organic grown of strawbery has a contribution to the local economy. The eating habits of dwellers , who grow their products with animal origin and herbs in an organic way, is natural and organic.People of this area can not turn to account to their natural products. There are a lot of projects put into practice on this subject..

An effective project has been implemented in our district lately which is named in English‘’ Reliable and healthy food in my village’’. With the help of this project it is aimed to contribute some families’ economy with productions. The project started with the aim of food to our table as healty and reliable. The project has been prepared by Agricultural Department of Hüyük and the project crew trained the women of the district in towns and villages.
