A COUPLE OF WORDS ON SMALL PARTS. . .

PHOS-MATE The Fremont High Energy Concept is a fast effective way to clean large parts. We cannot unleash this high energy concept on small parts unless we have a way of containing them. The PHOS-MATE is just the tool for this application.

The stainless steel cabinet washer attaches to the Models 1100 and 1600 Fremont Phosphatizing Systems and utilizes the pressure, heat, and high performance chemical injection features of the Fremont System to clean up to 240 pounds of parts per cycle.

A unique and effective way to get a quality pretreatment on small parts. The system includes six nozzles delivering spray at three different angles, the parts basket rotates at 12 RPM so in just a couple of minutes your parts have been barraged from dozens of different angles for thorough cleaning .

RUST Severe rust as shown at the left causes certain paint failure.

Heavy rust on the bottom of parts is caused by water sitting on flat or cupped areas of the part. To correct the problem; 1) drain water from flat and cupped surface areas after washing by tipping parts; 2) make sure that parts dry completely a few minutes after washing.

CLEANING AND PHOSPHATING TROUBLESHOOTING:

SOLUTION STRENGTH

Soap, (above) must be coming out of the line to clean and phosphate. Parts cannot be properly washed with solution as shown in the picture below.

WHITE POWDER White powder on parts shown at the right will cause paint failure. This normally indicates excessive chemical residue caused by using too strong of a chemical solution, poor rinsing, or washing parts too long. To correct the problems; 1) make sure your chemical solution is at the right operating strength, 2) rinse parts better and longer, or 3) wash parts faster.

A JOB WELL DONE:

Parts that are properly cleaned and phosphated provide good adhesion to keep paint from chipping or peeling. Parts also look better.

The first step to getting a satisfied customer is the quality of your paint finish ... because the first thing a customer notices when your product is delivered to him is the quality of the paint job.

Everybody can see the difference between a good paint finish and a bad one. When he sees a good looking product, he is pleased. He knows that your product will give him what he wanted; reliable, long and useful service.

A5GPM, 1000PSl,200°F machine for cleaning heavier metals such as construction and agriculture equipment. The 550,000 BTU burner provides enough heat to assure good quality phosphate coatings even on heavy castings or structural beams and rails. Both gun and wand are insulated to protect operator and assure maximum efficiency .

Selection Suggestion:

Model 1600

Many applications require some sand-blasting of weldments, etc. prior to phosphatizing. The 1600 sandblasts at 2000 PSI then quickly converts to a 1500 PSI phosphate system to finish even the toughest phosphatizing applications in cost slashing time.

It is important to take enough time to wash each part properly and thoroughly ... whether the part is large or small.

Washing a part too fast just won’t get it clean. It is impossible to get good phosphate on a dirty part. Paint won’t stick to a part without good phosphate. If parts are washed too fast the first time around, chances are they will come back as paint rejects and you’ll have to do them over again.

DISCHARGE NEUTRALIZING SYSTEM Part #2165: To be ordered with machine only. All Fremont phosphatizing chemicals are biodegradable and compatible with our environment , however some situations require a neutral (pH7) solution right at the source. This device automatically dispenses a caustic solution to the cleaning booth drain to neutralize phosphatizing solutions right at the source. The system includes an LMI fully adjustable metering pump that is prewired to the phosphatizing system to meter precisely the amount of chemical needed for neutralization only during those times the operator is actually using the acid phosphatize r.

ONE STAGE

Saves time, energy and water. A highly efficient single step product to clean, phosphatize and seal all in one dynamic step. Reduces time to prepare a part by 22% over conventional three stage process.

This process uses less water due to shorter process time and no rinsing being required.

Fremont has several specially formulated one step cleaner phosphates to meet your specific requirements.

THREE STAGE

Each Fremont system has two precisely calibrated stainless high pressure injectors. This contribution allows your operator to 1) Apply a heavy duty combination cleaner/ phosphatizer. 2) Rinse the part. 3) Apply a non-chrome seal rinse for ultimate uniform and complete phosphate coating. Fremont Industries has four different cleaner phosphate and three seal rinse products to be sure we meet or exceed the requirements of your application.

FIVE STAGE

In some cases, it might be necessary to utilize a five stage process. Sometimes just to meet a specification, whether or not it’s needed to clean and phosphate, a company must use a five stage process. Each Fremont system has the capability to deliver the five stages of conventional phosphatizing. Whether or not you use it, it’s certainly prudent to have that capability in any system you select.
