    THE TORSION FIELDAND THE AURA

    by Claude Swanson, Ph.D.

    ABSTRACT

The new sciences of biophotons and torsion fields provide a bridge between two views of life: the oldtwentieth century view of an organism as a chemical machine and the emerging view of life as communi-cation and energetic flows. In the new paradigm, DNA is the source of biophotons, governing cellularmachinery, communications and behavior. It governs growth and metabolism, with high energeticefficiency. The coherent biophoton field forms a hologram throughout the body, telling each DNAmolecule where it fits in the overall blueprint, and governing cell differentiation and specialization.

With the creation of each biophoton there is also a torsion wave. Torsion is a widespread and importantform of radiation which couples particle spins together, and propagates through space as a twisting wavein the metric. It results in a variety of new phenomena. These effects have been studied extensively forthe past forty years, at multiple research centers in Russia. Their most important conclusion is that thistorsion force is exactly the same as subtle energy.

Equations can predict torsion behavior, and inventions and practical devices have been developed usingit. Although the biophotons carry electromagnetic energy and are contained mostly within the body, torsion waves easily penetrate tissue and form the primary holographic pattern outside the body. Thisincludes the subtle structure of the aura and chakras, and also the long range signals used in distanceenergy healing.

The torsion field has been shown to couple to consciousness. It is a higher dimensional field, describingadditional degrees of freedom absent in Western science today. Torsion fields obey Yang-Mills gaugeequations, can alter the rate of time and produce stable energy forms without the need for matter. Thesefields can explain many kinds of spiritual phenomena ignored so far by mainstream physics. Torsionappears to be the missing ingredient which makes it possible to develop a true science of consciousnessand understand the nature of life. Hence it may truly be called the life force.

    THE TORSION FIELDAND THE AURA

Time i s the most important and most enigmatic peroperty of nature. Time is not

pro pag at ed lik e li gh t wa ve s; it ap pea rsimmediately everywhere. Dr. Nikolai Kozyrev (Ostrander, 1997)

Spin acts as the source of the torsion field inthe same manner as electric charge and mass

    produce electromagnetic and gravitation fields,

respectivelyA number of devices have beenconstructed, generating what appears to betorsion fields. (Panov, 1997)

Nikolai Alexandrovich Kozyrevs ideas amazeour imagination. They are full of optimism. For the first time in physical constructions wecan see vital, creative principles of the World, which are able to oppose to its heat death

foretold by traditional physics to be inevitable.

    (Shikhobalov, 2002)

From the late 80s till the late 90s, majorexperimental investigations were conductedthat confirmed the theoretical predictions. Itwas established that torsion generators allow usn ot on ly to rep l ic a te a l l p hen ome n a demonstrated by so-called psychics, but theyalso are able to demonstrate effects that werenever demonstrated by any psychic.

Dr. Yu. V. Nachalov (Nachalov, 2003)

THE KOZYREV EFFECT:THE FLOW OF TIME ANDTORSION

Abreakthrough in understanding thenature of subtle energy has come froman unexpected direction. Dr. NikolaiKozyrev, a respected Russian astrophysicist, announced almost fifty years ago that he haddiscovered a new force in physics that hecalled the density of time. He concludedthat the rate at which time passes can bea l tered b y other ph ys i ca l proc es s es .

Accompanying this would be a twisting

effect in space he called torsion, whichinteracts with the spins of particles. Sinceevery elementary particle, such as electronsand protons, have spin, this means thattorsion is a universal force which has beenoverlooked by Western physics. It appearsthat this field may be the missing elementin understanding the aura and other aspectsof subtle energy.

As an astrophysicist, Kozyrev was studying

how binary stars evolve. These are starswhich orbit one another. He discovered thattheir behavior was not following acceptedphysics. They grew to resemble one anothermuch faster than could be explained byknown principles.

When he was interviewed by Sh eilaOstrander and Lynn Schroeder in the late1960s for their ground breaking bookPsychic Discoveries Behind the IronCurtain, in which they devote an entirechapter to him, he said:

    3/48

There are pairs of stars we call doublestars. At first the two stars are not thesame, but gradually over a period of timethe secondary star comes to resemble the

primary star. It develops the same bright-ness, develops the same radius, becomes thesame spectral type. At such enormousdistances this mirroring couldnt behappening through force fields. It wouldseem the principal star is affecting thesatellite star through the energy of time. Its almost as if the stars communed bytelepathy, he said with a grin. (Ostrander,1970)

As he analyzed this behavior, he realized thathe could explain it if time itself werevariable. He theorized that whenever anirreversible process occurs, one whichchanges entropy1 such as the burning insidea star, then it also affects the flow of time. This was the beginning of what has becomea far-reaching and revolutionary new theoryin physics.

Many physical processes are irreversiblewhich means that they only run in onedirection, from an ordered system to adisordered system. When a fire burns or aliquid evaporates, its energy and particlesbecome spread over a larger volume.Energy escapes into space and cannot easilybe recaptured. This is connected to aprinciple in physics called the Second Lawof Thermodynamics, which says thatentropy in a closed system can never

decrease. It means that when the energy ofa campfire log radiates away, it cannot berecaptured and used to recreate the logagain, without putting in extra energy. This

is an example of the increase of entropy in

an irreversible process. Some haveproposed that it is the increase of entropywhich determines the passage of time. Thetwo are closely coupled.

Kozyrev was troubled by this theory, because it led to the prediction that theUniverse would wind down, endingeventually in a heat death in which all ofthe energy and matter was spread equallythroughout the universe in a diffuse gas,

without life and without structure. As anexperimental astrophysicist, he observedthat this was not happening:

One consequence of this proposal is thattorsion can be stored in an object andtransferred from one object to another. Inthis way its behavior is similar to electric

charge, but it is not conserved. It decaysslowly over time. The storage time variesfrom tens of seconds to many monthsdepending on various factors. A widevariety of detection means have been usedto measure this effect. It is independent ofthe type of detection used:

Investigation of this effect has shown thatsamples of the substances placed near

processes, emitting time, then after some

time, they themselves have such an effecton the detector.(Korotaev, 1996)

Th is e ff ec t wa s a ls o se en by vo nReichenbach (Reichenbach, 1850) whoused sensitives to observe and report it. Hecalled it od and we call it subtle energyor the life force. It has the same behavioras the Russian torsion. According to manyRussian scientists, torsion IS subtle energy. It is responsible for the effects we havedescribed throughout this book, such as theaura and long distance healing.

Kozyrev realized that time density wouldimply that space must also have a twistingproperty. He reasoned that if time isasymmetric, then space must also be. Everyparticle which has a mass, such as electrons, protons and neutrons, also has a spin. Everytime such a particle accelerates, it must

produce a twisting effect in space because ofits spin. Entropy changes usually involveaccelerations of particles, and therefore shouldaffect this twisting property, which he named

In the Universe, however, there are nosigns of the degradation which is describedin the Second Law [of Thermodynamics].Stars die and are born again. The

Universe sparkles with inexhaustiblevariety. In it one finds no traces of anupcoming thermal and radioactive death.

Apparently here is where the basic contra-diction lies a deep contradiction whichmay not be explained away through areference to nonapplicability of the SecondLaw to the infinity of the Universe. The

fact is that not only separate stellar bodies, but whole systems are isolated from eachother to a degree that they may be regarded

as closed systems, for all practical purposes(usually the Second law is applied only toclosed systems.) For them the thermal deathcould visibly draw nearer before any aidcould come from outside. Such systems, ina state of degredation, should prevail inthe universe, and yet they are almost non-existent. (Kozyrev, 1958)

From observations such as this, Kozyrevarrived at his theory of torsion and timedensity, which concludes that when entropyincreases in one place, it decreases elsewhere. This avoids the heat death scenario. Histheory states that whenever an irreversibleprocess occurs, which leads to a local changeof entropy, that this change causes a localchange in the density of time, and thischange is radiated away in a twisting wavecarrying torsion which will be absorbed atsome other location. The absorption of the

wave causes an entropy change in theopposite direction at the point of absorp-tion. The overall entropy for the systemtherefore does not change.

In other words, the torsion wave carries thedensity of time, and in the process ensuresthat overall, when all the processes in theuniverse are taken into account, total

entropy does not increase. Information isnot lost. An increase somewhere leads toa decrease elsewhere, at the location wherethe torsion radiation is absorbed. This issummarized by Figure 2.

In addition, this flow is virtually instantaneous:

Time does not propagate (for example likeelectromagnetic waves) but appears at onceall over the Universe. That is why the

connection through time must be an instan-taneous one. So it is possible to observesome phenomena of very far astronomicalbodies in real time, without delay. This

perspective does not contradict the specialtheory of relativity because, when we haveinstantantaneous connection through time, there are not movements of materialobjects. (Kozyrev, 1976)

Kozyrevs ideas, although startling andrevolutionary, have been carefully testedand verified over four decades by manydozens of physicists in Russia. It is indeedsurprising that these results are not more

widely known in the West. Their mostimportant conclusion is that this force,

which Kozyrev calls torsion, is exactly thesame as subtle energy. Equations havebeen developed which predict its behavior, and inventions and practical devices have

    been developed using it.

While Kozyrevs work stands on its own, ithas been verified by many other Russian

torsion. Consequently, whenever a chargedparticle produces electromagnetic waves, orphotons, it also creates torsion waves. As aresult, torsion is a widespread and important

form of radiation which couples particle spinstogether. Although its effects are usuallyweaker than electromagnetism, they arewidespread and result in new phenomena.

When an irreversible process increasesentropy in one location, it radiates torsionor time density, which will then be absorbedelsewhere. At the point of absorptionnegative entropy is produced whichbalances the entropy increase at the source.

This is an extremely important principle. Itensures that the entropy of the entireuniverse does not increase. Kozyrev wouldsay this happens because the flow of timecompensates for the entropy increase.

Of this physical property of time, thedensity of time, Adamenko says:

This physical component of time [the timedensity] can be absorbed or radiated bysubstances. So density reflects the active

property of time. The experiments carriedout using special detectors showed that nearthe systems in which entropy increases, thedensity of time increases too. Consequentlyin this process the order, lost when entropyincreases in one system, can be transmitted bychanging the density of time, to the substanceof the detector, increasing its order. So theelasticity, the conductivity, the work function

of electrons (in photoelectronic processes) of thesubstance changes. These phenomena wereconfirmed by experiments (Kozyrev, 1978;Kozyrev, 1980). (Adamenko, 1989)

SUM. It is defined in Volume I and II, andappears to provide a useful intuitive

framework for understanding some aspects ofKozyrevs torsion theory.

    EXPERIMENTAL SUPPORTFOR TORSION

Many Russian scientists have concludedthat Kozyrevs discoveries constitute animportant breakthrough in physics. Extensiveresearch programs have been carried out to

verify or extend various aspects of it. Forexample, the Tomsk Polytechnical Universityconducted a multi-year program investigatingvarious aspects of torsion, both techniques for

scientists (Levich, 1996; Lavrentiev, 1990,1991; Panov, 1997; Lunev, 1995; Akimov,

1996). It is consistent with earlier Westernresearchers , such as Baron Karl vonReichenbach and Dr. Wilhelm Reich, withTraditional Chinese Medicine, and withmodern Western scientists such as Dr.William Tiller (Tiller, 2001, 2005).

This research as well as other supportingmaterial, is compiled in two books by Dr.Swanson, referred to here as Volume I(Swanson, 2003), The Synchronized

Universe, and Volume II (Swanson, 2009),entitledLife Force: The Scientific Basis. Thetheoretical model presented there is referredto as the Synchronized Universe Model, or

Figure 2. According to Kozyrev, total entropy and information in the universe is conserved. When entropyincreases somewhere, due to an irreversible process, the lost information is carried away by (right handed)

torsion waves, and deposited at the location where the torsion is absorbed. Time density is said to be thin atthe source, where the entropy is increasing, and dense at the location where the torsion waves are absorbed. The reverse process can be considered as a time reversed version of the first one. A site where entropy locally

decreases produces left handed torsion. Entropy will increase at the site where these waves are absorbed.

the Iron Curtain (Ostrander, 1970) manyaspects had already been experimentallyverified, and were receiving governmentalresearch support. One torsion scientist,

Shakparonov, commented that his resultswere based on a 30 year collaboration byeight different laboratories (Shakhparonov,1999). Many of the results were onlypublished after glasnost in 1991, whensecurity restrictions relaxed. The numberof physicists and institutions involvedindicate that torsion is a genuine scientificphenomenon.

Professor Panov of Perm Univers ity

    summarized some of the experimentalevidence:

In the experiments performed in theseventies and eighties in Dubna, Protvino, and also in Brookhaven and ArgonneNational Laboratories, it has been shownthat protons with spins in opposition to thespins of target protonic polarization travelthrough target protons, as A. Krish put it,as if without interaction (Akimov, 1996),whereas for identical orientation of spinsof protons in the beam and target ,scattering occurs in satisfactory agreementwith the theory, The unusual behavior of spinning particles was observed with

particle accelerators of various types inmany experiments.

V.G.Baryshevski and M.I.Podgoretskihave found experimentally that precession

of neutrons occurs when they pass througha spin-polarized target, corresponding inmagnitude to a field several orders of magnitude stronger than the magnetic

generating it and measuring it. One reportfrom that institution lists 19 scientists asauthors (Lunev, 1995), and describes workconducted over a ten year period starting in

1983. The report bibliography lists hundredsof other reports which were published overthis time period. Most of them were experi-mental and support the reality of torsion asan important phenomenon.

Other research has been summarized byrespected scientist Dr. A. P. Levich of MoscowUniversity (Levich, 1996), who states:

    N.A. Kozyrev, an outstanding astronomer

and natural sc ienti st , enriched the d yn am ic p ic tu re o f t he w or ld b y introducing a new entity, possessing active

properties, and coinciding with neithermatter, nor field, nor space-time in itsusual understanding.

Levichs report describes experiments bydozens of Russian scientists who verifiedKozyrevs predictions using torsion balances, resistance bridges, photocells, piezoelectricelements, mercury thermometers, chemicalreactions, and changes of mass and density. It describes experiments which validateKozyrevs ideas in astronomy, electromag-netism, gravity and subtle energy. Itindicates that subtle energy, in the guise oftorsion, is well on its way to being acceptedas a hard science complete with experi-mental validation, theory and applications.

Nikolai Kozyrevs research on torsion beganin the 1950s. By 1969 when he wasinterviewed by Sheila Ostrander and LynnSchroeder for Psychic Discoveries Behind

long range correlations listed. The proposalis that the background torsion field maymediate all of these effects. In Volume II

we explain such phenomena as due to a

beat frequency between two parallelphysical realities or synchronized planes.Such effects can occur when subtle energyor torsion has raised the gauge, (to useDr. Tillers apt expression.)

Kozyrevs theory explains anomaliesobserved in gravitation, such as the eclipseexperiments of Saxl and Allais (Saxl, 1967,1971, 1996; Allais, 1957a-e, 1959), referredto in Volume II. It may explain why NASA

satellites are not moving as predicted as theym ov e o ut wa rd i n t he s ol ar s ys te m(Flandern, 1997). Even more exciting, itmay explain dark matter and darkenergy, two phenomena which havepuzzled astronomers in recent years.

Dr. Gennady Shipov (Shipov, 1993)developed a rigorous mathematical theoryfor torsion, and his predictions have beenconfirmed by several Russian scientists(Akimov, 1995, 1997). Others including DeSabbata and Gasperini (De Sabbata, 1980,1981), Hammond (Hammond, 1999),Evans (Evans, 2003) and Veinik (Veinik,1991) have authored competing theories, allof which include some form of torsion, soit is probably too early to render a verdicton the final torsion theory.

The effect of torsion can be seen in the

simple lab experiments Kozyrev conducted. In the presence of an irreversible process, such as the evaporation of acetone, forexample, a force was created resembling

field of the target nuclei (Baryshevski,1964). R. Irabert discovered that circular

polarized electromagnetic waves deviatefrom the plane of incidence (Imbert,

1972) , the di rec tion o f deviat ion dependent on the spin Taken together, the above results, as well as some other

findings, give enough reason to suggestthe existence of interactions and fields ofa particular kind with classical spins orangular momenta acting as their source.Spin acts as the source of torsion fieldin the same manner as electric chargeand mass produce electromagnetic and

    gravitational fields, re spectively.

    [emphasis added] (Panov, 1997)

Russian scientists have found that torsionalso explains unusual effects correlated overdistance, such as the so-called kineto-bariceffect (Peshka, 1979), Picardis 25-yearobservation of the Bismuth Chloride precip-itation rate, the rate of erythrocyte precipi-tat i on ( Mek si , 1 98 2) , f li ck er n oi se(Zhvirblis, 1983) as well as the manyobservations of Kozyrev, and A. Shapovalovsthree year observations of photomultiplierdark current (Shapovalov, 1973).

Such experiments describe correlatedanomalies, which means anomalies whichare seen simultaneously in many locations.Dr. William Tiller has shown that in certainconditioned spaces, which means spacescharged with subtle energy, anomalies canappear which are periodic and coupled over

large distances, even between laboratories indifferent States (Tiller, 2001, 2005). Thiscoupling over long distances of anomalouseffects appears to be connected to the other

According to Kozyrev, torsion is created byan irreversible process, one in whichentropy is changed. A good example of anirreversible process is the evaporation of

acetone, a cleaning fluid. Evaporation ofwater will also work, but acetone evaporatesmuch faster and produces a stronger effect. In evaporation, energy flow is inward to theliquid. By the definition of entropy, thismeans it must increase during this process.Because the molecules occupy a largervolume after evaporation, we have lessinformation about their location, soinformation about the system has reduced. This is another meaning of entropy

    increase.

The figure below (Figure 3) sketches twodifferent devices which Kozyrev used tomeasure torsion effects. They are verysensitive and capable of registering weak

gravity. Depending upon the sign of theentropy change, this force could be eitherattractive or repulsive. These two polari-ties also correspond to the two polarities of

yin and yang described in earlier chapters, and to the positive and negative od studiedby von Reichenbach. In fact, Kozyrevfound that he could create these same twopolarities of subtle energy in the laboratoryby introducing irreversible processes. Theymay offer an alternative explanation for theorigin of dark matter and dark energy whichis puzzling astrophysicists.

that they absorb time, producing lefthanded torsion, denoted SL. It created anattractive force, very similar to gravitythough stronger. He found that the force

did not depend on the composition of themass, only its weight. He concluded thatprocesses which are negentropic and absorbtime generate a force which attracts, whilesources which increase entropy emit time, generating a force which repels.

Kozyrev found that the motion of thependulum behaves as if time density ortorsion is similar to gravity. Near a cause, there is time emission, and the lines of

time stream away from the source. This isa region which repels the small mass of thetorsion balance. It is as if time emissioni s t he s am e a s n eg at iv e g ra vi ty, o rantigravity. Conversely, a region ofdecreasing entropy, or time absorption, in

which time is dense in Ko zyre vsterminology, behaves as though gravity isincreased. Such regions produce a weakattractive force, pulling the small mass tothem.

T he se o bs er va ti on s h el p e xp la in amysterious Russian term from the 1970s:biogravity. Ever since the writings ofDubrov in the 1960s (Dubrov, 1973,1977), Russian scientists have associatedsubtle energy with the term biogravity.Du br ov e ve n w ro te a b oo k t it le dBiogravitation (Dubrov, 1973). There werea number of PK experiments conducted

during that period, and it was often hintedt ha t t he y co ul d be e xp la in ed bybiogravity, without explaining what it

was. In chapter 8, from the work of Robert

forces and torques. Devices of this kindwere used centuries ago to measure gravityin the laboratory. Other scientists includingLavrentiev (Lavrentiev, 1991) have

replicated and extended Kozyrevs experi-ments, so at the present time these effectshave been very rigorously demonstrated inRussia.

The devices are called torsion pendulumsand are very simple, in principle. Theyconsist of a balance arm suspended by a finethread. One version, the asymmetrictorsion balance, used a small mass on a longarm, and a large mass on a short arm, as

shown in the left frame of Figure 3. Thelengths of the arms are chosen to balancethe two masses. All the air is pumped outof the container to eliminate effects of airmotion. A Faraday cage was placed aroundthe detector to minimize electromagneticdisturbances. Thermal insulation was usedto guard against temperature effects.

Then Kozyrev placed a source of timedensity near the long arm and monitored

what happened. He found that processeswhich increase entropy, such as evaporationof acetone, always repelled the small masson the long arm. In his terminology suchprocesses emit time, and create righthanded torsion, denoted by SR. No matteron which side of the arm the acetone wasplaced, it had the effect of pushing the smallmass away.

When instead he used a source of negativeentropy, such as the freezing of ice, Kozyrevfound that it caused an attraction of thesmall mass. Kozyrev said of such processes

Pavlita, we will see an inventor who learnedto control this energy to produce attractionor repulsion forces. In some cases it can beeven stronger than magnetism and works

under water unlike electrostatic forces. Thisappears to be the same force used byKozyrev to move the torsion pendulum.

In some of his experiments a different typeof torsion balance was used: a flat circlesuspended in the center, instead of the longtorsion arm. This is shown in the righthand diagram of Figure 3. Because of thesymmetry of the suspended circle, thegravitational force of attraction or

repulsion does not affect its motion in thiscase. However, Kozyrev found that placingeva por at i ng a c etone or s ome otherirreversible process near the support pointat the top of the thread had an effect. Itcaused the circular disk to rotate!

The direction of rotation of the disk wasconsistent with the direction of twist of thetorsion which flowed down the thread fromthe irreversible process at the top. In this

way Kozyrev verified that torsion carries atwisting motion, and can produce a forceon physical objects.

Processes in which entropy increases, suchas acetone evaporation, caused the disk torotate clockwise,as viewed from above. Thismeans the disk twisted to the right, looking downward in the direction thetorsion was flowing. Conversely, processes

in which entropy decreased (left handedtorsion, time absorption) caused the circle torotate counter-clockwise,or to the left. Thisis consistent with the torsion twist direction.

Kozyrev used this type of detector in latertelescope applications, since light fromdistant objects could be focused on thesmall support point at the top, He was

thereby able to measure not only thepresence of torsion energy of remoteobjects, but also the polarity of the energy.

And the amount of the twist measured thestrength of the torsion signal.

The mercury level in a thermometer can serveas a detector of torsion, because mercury, as

well as other materials, expands or contracts inreponse to torsion (Kozyrev, 1982).Temperature effects must be carefully removed

first, since obviously thermometers also respondto temperature. This can be done by placingthe thermometer in an insulated container.Other processes which can serve as detectorsinclude electrical resistance, water viscosity, chemical reaction rate, and the growth rate ofplants and bacteria. In each case, the effectsare small so they must be implemented withsome care and sophistication.

Although they penetrate through materials, each substance is different. Aluminum issaid to reflect about 50% of a torsion wave, and materials with chiral (twisting) organicmolecules each reflect torsion differently, based on the polarization of the wave. Thiscreates a torsion filter.

Torsion waves twist to either the right or leftas they move through space. When they passthrough materials with the correct molecular

make-up, with molecules which twist to theleft or right, they will either pass through orbe partially absorbed. This is one exception tothe rule that torsion penetrates all materials.

In Kozyrevs early 1967 paper he describedmaterials of this type:

It turned out that [torsion] balances can beshielded, to a considerable extent, from theseinfluences by placing near them an organicsubstance consisting only of right-handedmolecules: for example, sugar. The left-handedmolecules e.g. turpentine evidently causethe opposite effect. (Kozyrev, 1967)

This observation emphasizes the importanceof handedness in biological molecules.

According to Kozyrev, the molecular handed-ness can filter out one spin direction andallow the other to come through. It may beconnected to the twist in acupuncturepoints when they become stimulated, as

reported by Prof. Joie Jones (Jones, 2002,2004a). Such a twisting of tissue can actas a valve, allowing one polarity of torsionenergy (subtle energy, or chi) to pass

through while stopping the other polarity. It may be an important mechanism in theacupuncture system. Obviously such a far-reaching proposal needs to be tested, but ifverified it could provide valuable insight intohow the bodys acupuncture meridiannetwork regulates the flow of chi.

Figure 4 illustrates some of the processestested by Kozyrev which locally increaseentropy, or emit time. Among theprocesses tested were evaporation ofacetone, dying of plants, melting of ice, chemical reactions, and dissolution ofmaterials such as sugar in water. Eachprocess produces right hand torsion. Ineach case, the process repelled the pointeron the asymmetric pendulum and caused

the circular pendulum to rotate to the right.

Conversely, Kozyrev tested other processeswhich decrease entropy. These involved

Figure 4. Examples of processes which emit time, in which entropy increases andright handed torsion or negative od is produced.

cooling of an object, the stretching of arubber band, the compressing of a spring, the growing of a healthy plant, and thefreezing of ice. They are illustrated inFigure 5. In Kozyrevs terminology, theseprocesses are associated with absorbingtime. In each of them, the long pointeron the balance arm moved toward theprocess. The circular pendulum rotated tothe left. They are all examples of lefthanded torsion.

One polarity is associated with stimulatinggrowth and life. The other slows time andis associated with rest. This corresponds tothe two polarities ofyangandyinin Chinesemedicine. It also corresponds to the twopolarities of od described by Baron von

Reichenbach. This is the same energy.Once again someone has discovered subtleenergy! But a great deal that is new hasbeen learned in the process.

N.A.Kozyrev has given the following, unfortunately, intuitive interpretation of those facts. The process emitting time is theone losing organization, or in another way emitting negentropy. (Korotaev, 1996)

Kozyrev found that torsion is created inabundance by fields of flowers in the spring-time, and is also present in sunshine. This

was also discovered by von Reichenbach. When he created an irreversible process, such as mixing two liquids together, ordissolving sugar in water, Reichenbach foundthe process created large quantities of subtleenergy, which he called od and whichKozyrev calls torsion or time density.

The torsion emitted by plants is a particu-

larly interesting case. Note that a dyingplant emits right handed torsion, which isassociated with a process in which entropyis increasing at the source. This implies

Subtle Energies & Energy Medicine Volume 19 Number 3 Page 55

Figure 5. Examples of processes which absorb time, in which entropydecreases and left handed torsion or positive od is produced.

    14/48

that entropy is increasing inside a dyingplant. This makes sense, because its biolog-ical structures are breaking down. Bycontrast, a growing plant is a source of local

decrease of entropy, since it is activelybuilding complex tissues and structures.Based on Russian observations, metabolismis negentropic. Therefore it absorbs time.

It is useful to keep in mind the dual natureof torsion waves. A locale in which entropyis increasing locally is a site where random-ness is increasing and information is beinglost. But according to Kozyrev, thisinformation is carried away by the torsion

waves, and will be deposited wherever thetorsion is absorbed. According to thisrelationship, therefore, living creatures emitleft handed torsion.

    CHANGING MASS ANDDENSITY

One prediction of Kozyrev was that thedensity of time would affect themass of ordinary matter. To test this,

Academician Lavrentiev and his team builta reflecting chamber with an irreversibleprocess at one end, and the mass or densityto be affected at the other. Any sound orlight signal from one focal point will befocussed onto the other focal point. Theconceptual design of the experiment isillustrated in Figure 6.

An irreversible process is allowed to proceedat the focal point on the left end of thechamber (Lavrentiev, 1991). The resultingtorsion reflects from the mirrored walls and

is then focused on an experiment at thesecond focal point on the right hand side. InLavrentievs experiment, there was a distanceof 40 centimeters between the two focal

points. At the first focal point, on the left,he placed a sealed container inside of whichan irreversible process could occur. Oneexample was a sealed flask of liquid nitrogen

which was allowed to evaporate, turning froma liquid to a gas. Sawdust was included inthe f lask to absorb the vapor. Otherirreversible processes included sugar dissolvingin water, and the cooling of hot water.

At the second focal point was placed the

system to be affected. There were twoprincipal types of mass experiments. In onetype, the mass was suspended from thebalance, but it was submerged in a beakerof distilled water. In this case, the densityof water was also affected by the irreversibleprocess. Changes in the water densityaltered the buoyancy of the weight, whichled to a change in the measured weight onthe balance. In the other type, there was no

water and the mass was measured directly.

The experimenters were well aware oftemperature effects and other possible sourcesof error, and took great pains to eliminatethem. They called in members of the StateInspection for the Mechanical Means ofMeasurement, similar to our NationalBureau of Standards, now called NIST,

which is the expert on very accurate measure-ments. This group was asked to observe and

    verify their measurement methods.

To further eliminate error, they took furtherprecautions:

The possibility of mass changes due toknown phenomena (electrostatics, adsorp-tion, and absorption, changes in thebuoyant force, etc.) were studied in cyclesof special experiments. Systematic massmeasurements of 16 objects over a yeardetected mass changes uncorrelated withchanges in atmospheric pressure, humidityor temperature. A cycle of experiments wascarried out on specially fabricated objectso f Dura l and bra s s with buil t -in

thermometers, with differing shapes andmasse s , and with e lectrical heaters

provided with contact screens of variouskinds: of asbestos, marble, copper, etc. The

correlation of the dynamics of the massvariations and the dynamics of the temper-ature variations were investigated. The setof results cannot be related in principlew it h t he se k now n p he no me na . (Lavrentiev, 1991)

Figure 7 shows some of the results of thesemeasurements. A metallic mass is weighed

while submerged in water. Torsion affectsboth the mass of the object and the density

of the water. An increase in water densitywill reduce the measured weight at thescales, due to buoyancy. The two effectsare in opposite directions, but the effect of

Figure 6. Illustration of one type of experiment conducted by Kozyrev and later replicated by Lavrentiev. Aphysical process is allowed to occur at the left end of the chamber. In this example, it is an irreversible process,

the evaporation or mixing of chemicals. A signal is emitted from such processes, and it can be reflected andrefocused on the right hand side, where it creates unusual effects such as the alteration of mass and density.

the water density is the larger effect. Thevertical axis displays the resulting weight, ingrams, which combines these two effects. The resulting weight of the object is shown

on the vertical axis, measured in milligramsor thousandths of a gram, accurate to fivedecimal places.

When the irreversible process begins, thewater density changes. This causes anabrupt change on the measured value.Using this technique, when the scales showa decrease in the weight, it means that the

weight is more buoyant because the waterhas become denser. A decrease in measured

mass means an increase in water density.

In the figure, four curves are plotted, corresponding to four different cases. Thehorizontal axis is time, in minutes. Theflask containing the irreversible process isplaced at the left-hand focal point of thechamber, but it is not started until after thesystem has settled down. Then, at a givenmoment marked as 60 minutes on thegraph, the irreversible process begins. Atthat moment, a change in the density of the

    water occurs in every case.

In the top curve, the irreversible process isthe cooling of boiling water. At the startingtime, the boiling water begins to cool. Atthe same moment the mass at the secondfocal point shows an increase in weightcorresponding to adecreasein the density ofthe water. The change is several milligrams.

In the second curve, the irreversible processis the dissolving of sugar into water. Thiscauses a decrease in the measured mass on

Subtle Energies & Energy Medicine Volume 19 Number 3 Page 58

Figure 7. Four curves are plotted on the graph, corresponding to four different cases. The first

and fourth from top down are caused byentropy decreasing processes, producing left

handed torsion, SL. The second and third casesare caused by entropy increasing processes, which

generate right handed torsion, SR. Thehorizontal axis is time, in minutes. M is the

Case [3] is liquid nitrogen evaporation, 6minutes, where M=-4.65 0.1 mg,

the right, meaning the water there is nowdenser. In this case entropy is increasingbecause of the freedom of mixing of the twotypes of molecules. No significant energy

    exchange occurs.

An even stronger effect is seen in the thirdcurve, in which liquid nitrogen is allowedto evaporate. Here, again, entropy at thesource increases because of the additionaldegr ees of f reedom of th e n i tr og enmolecules. The measured weight dropssuddenly by more than four milligrams.

The last curve uses human metabolism.

From other experiments such as the torsionpendulum, it was already known thatmetabolism is negentropic. This illustrateshow efficient life processes are in rebuildingprotein and tissue.

Note that in Cases 2 and 3, entropy isincreasing at the source. This producesright handed torsion, marked SR. In Cases1 and 4 entropy decreases at the source,

which produces left handed torsion, SL

. Inall cases the measured change on the scalesis opposite the direction of entropy change. These and other experiments confirmed theeffect of torsion on changes in weight anddensity. Academician Lavrentiev concluded:

the entire set of properties of thedynamics of change in mass and density ofsubstance, including the aftereffect notedby us (continuation of the change in

density and mass after cessation of theeffect) is indicative of a change in mass asa measure of the gravitational (inertial)

property of the substance, and not as a

measure of the amount of the substance.(Lavrentiev, 1991)

    Experiments were also performed measuring

the mass directly, without the buyancy ofwater. These also showed the expectedeffects. These anomalous changes in massand density, which are consistent withKozyrevs torsion field, have also beenobserved in chemical experiments inGermany. A series of tests were carried outby Klaus Volkamer et al. to determine how

well conservation of mass holds in chemicalreactions. They observed significant masschanges, consistent with the effects of torsion:

Using modern sensitive, and in one caseautomatic, weighing techniques, the resultsobtained reveal time-dependent and long-range gravitational irregularities which aremany orders of magnitude larger thanexpected relativistic-mass effects, indicatingan apparent violation of conservation of mass in this special chemical reaction.(Volkamer, 1994)

    ASTRONOMICALOBSERVATIONS

In another series of fascinating experi-ments, Lavrentiev and his team placed anelectrical element, a special resistor, at thereceiving end of a reflecting telescope(Lavrentiev, 1990). The diagram in Figure8 illustrates this design.

plasma and evaporation of heated particlesas solar wind. In Lavrentievs experiment,a parabolic aluminum mirror was used tofocus the suns radiation onto a specialresistive element. The mirror used waspart of the 50 inch diameter telescope at

the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory ofthe Academy of Sciences USSR.

One of Kozyrevs many discoveries was that, despite the ability of torsion waves topenetrate most materials, aluminum doesreflect a portion of the wave (about 50%).This fact was used in numerous experimentsas a means to concentrate the torsion energy.

    Kozyrev had already demonstrated that

resistors are affected by torsion. Some ofthe most sensitive detectors contain biolog-ical material, while others use thin filmtungsten. The resistors are depicted in the

diagram, placed in a bridge circuit whichcan be used to measure small changes inresistance. Another successful design useda colony of E. coli bacteria. Exposure tothe torsion energy alters their growth rate.

These telescope detectors were calibratedwith other irreversible processes in thelaboratory, such as evaporation of acetoneand the dissolving of sugar in water. Boththe metal film resistor and the biologicalsensor made good detectors. Over twentymaterials were evaluated as sensors. Inoperation, an aluminum alloy screen and anopaque cover were placed over the front ofthe telescope. This shielded out all of theconventional solar radiation, including light

and heat. Consequently, radiation travel-ling from the sun to the telescope canrepresent only the torsion waves.

Figure 8. Detection of torsion emitted by the sun. This system was also used to measure the torsion radiationfrom stars and planets. On the left (at great distance!) is the object being observed, the sun or stars. On the

right is a telescope with parabolic mirror, which focuses the torsion waves on a detector. A metallic cover isplaced over the telescope to exclude normal light. The detector in this case is a network of resistors(Wheatstone Bridge). Certain resistor materials such as tungsten showed the largest change in resistance whenexposed to torsion energy. The design was carefully tested to ensure that no conventional energy reached the

resistor. Other torsion detectors, such as Kozyrevs torsion pendulums, were also used successfully.

As the telescope was scanned past the sun,the voltage across the resistor array variedstrongly, indicating changes in the intensityof torsion energy impinging upon it. Figure

9 shows two traces of the resulting outputsignal. The telescope direction was scannedat a constant rate (the rate the earth wasturning) across the sky, so even though thehorizontal axis is given in minutes of time,it actually represents direction in the sky.The vertical axis on the graph measures thesignal strength of the detector. This createsa one-dimensional map of torsion bright-ness across the sky.

There is a strong peak in the signal at thelocation corresponding to theinstantaneousposition of the sun. This is marked as thetrue position in the graphs. This is thedirection that the sun would appear in thesky at that moment if light propagated withinfinitespeed. There is also a weaker signal

which appears on the right side of thegraphs corresponding to the apparentposition of the sun to the eye, which iscaused by the 8.3 minute delay lightrequired for light to travel to the earth.

There is also a third signal in the graphs, about 8.3 minutes on the otherside of thetrue position. This corresponds to theactual future position of the sun 8.3minutes later. It corresponds to thedirection of the sun i f l ight traveledbackwards in time from the sun to theearth. This is called the advanced waved.

Although these experiments were conductedby Academician M.M. Lavrentiev, similarexperimental data was presented by Dr.

Viktor Adamaneko in a lecture at theSeventh International IAPR meeting, inCarrolton, Georgia, USA in 1988. I wasfortunate to attend this talk and speak tohim afterwards about the experiment. Heexplained that some of the signals detectedby the telescope appear to propagate instan-taneously or even backward in time:

This is why a connection through timemust be an instantaneous one. So it is

possible to observe some phenomena of

instantaneous direction of the sun, not theretarded or time-delayed position which is its

apparent position as we would judge by eye.(Lavrentiev, 1990)

very far astronomical objects in real time, without delay, using special detectors of

physical properties of time. N. Kozyrevand V. Nasonov carried out some experi-

ments in the Crimean AstrophysicalObservatory in 1978-1980 to determinetrue and apparent star positions. Theydiscovered that the detector of physical

properties of time feels changes at threepoints in the sky:

    a) position of the astronomical object atthe present moment

    b) position of the astronomical object inthe past

    c) position of the astronomical object in thefuture, which the object would have ifit were to receive a signal from the earthwith the velocity of light.

    (Adamenko, 1988)

One issue which these measurementshighlight is the propagation speed of thetorsion signal through space. Light travelsat 3 x 108 meters per second, which meansit takes about 8.3 minutes to arrive at theearth from the sun. It appears that thetorsion signal measured by the telescope hasthree components, one which travels at thespeed, one which travels backwards in timeat the speed of light, and one which travelsat near infinite speed. There are many otherresults which support this observation.

This idea sounds even stranger than theKozyrev notion of time density, but

actually it is a concept which is familiar tomodern physicists. Nobel Laureate RichardFeynman created his space-time diagrams toillustrate how particles, and light, can travel

forward and backward in time. He pointedout that, mathematically, photons travellingbackward in time are a legitimate solutionsof Maxwells equations. Nowadays, in

Quantum Electrodynamics, i t i s notunusual to assume that l ight can gobackwards in time over small distances.

What is unusual is the possibility that asignal can go backwards in time over largedistances, and that such effects can bedetected. According to torsion theory, it isthe interaction of particle spins of this type

which can carry information but no energy, which makes this possible. This feature isone of many that make torsion waves

    unusual.

Observations of this type, in which faster-than-light signals are detected, supportacupuncture measurements performed inthe Soviet Union during solar f lares.Doctor A. Podshibyakin, an electrophysiol-ogist at the Institute of Clinical Physiology,Kiev, was measuring the acupoints of ahuman subject, using a tobiscope whichmeasures the electrical conductivity proper-t ie s o f a c up oi nt s. He n ot ic ed t ha tanomalies in the acupuncture voltagesoccurred simultaneously with strong solarflares on the sun. The occurrence of theacupuncture anomalies and the solar flares

were not delayed by 8.3 minutes as wouldbe expected if they were due to electro-magnetic signals. He concluded that

whatever was causing th e acupunctureanomaly must travel much faster than light.

It is now recognized that these signals werean early observation of torsion waves(LaMothe, 1972).

Lavrentiev and his team examined experi-mental ly many of the predictions of Kozyrevs theory. He concluded:

Not a single case was noted which contra-dicts the observations of Kozyrev, butfurt her invest igations are required toconfirm his conclusions about the physical

properties of the observed effect(Lavrentiev, 1990).

    ORIGIN OF TORSION

Kozyrevs theory of torsion arose fromhis ideas about the basic nature of

cause and effect. He postulated that inphysical processes, the cause of an eventand the effect are always separated by asmall amount of space and time. One canthink of the cause as an initial imbalanceof forces in space, an imbalance of vacuumenergy, and the effect as being theresponse which tries to bring it back intobalance.

The cause and effect are separated by a smallinterval, which has the properties of atwisting vector. This leads to the notionthat right handed twist is the polarity ofsubtle energy which moves time forward. Itis probably connected to a deep asymmetryin physics involving the spin of elementaryparticles.

A force can arise along this line between the

c au se a nd t he e ff ec t. To c on se rv emomentum, the force along the line isbalanced in both directions. However, according to Kozyrevs ideas, a small

twisting force along the line can arise. Thedirection of twist (right handed versus lefthanded) depends on whether entropy isincreased or decreased at the point of origin.

When entropy increases at one point dueto an irreversible process, according toKozyrev this alters the local time densityand causes the generation of right handedtorsion waves.

At some later point this torsion will beabsorbed. This results in an increase in thetime density and a decrease in entropy atthat location. Consequently the torsion wavemaintains overall balance in entropy for the

entire system. Although entropy increased atthe point of the cause its absorptionelsewhere balances this. These torsion wavescannot be localized, so any process involvesthe entire system, the universe. As a result, according to Kozyrev, the assumption of theSecond Law of Thermodynamics that it ispossible to have an isolated system is false. There can be no isolated systems. Torsionand time density permeate the entire universeand couple any local process to every otherparticle.

This is similar to the Synchronized UniverseModel we described in Volume I, which isbased on the principle that every physicalprocess involves an interaction with everyother particle in the universe. This isanother statement of Machs Principle. Here

    we see it in a slightly different form, but thee ff ec t i s t h e s a me . T he u ni ve rs e i s

    22/48

    As summarized by Kozyrev:

Time carries order or negative entropy(negentropy) and it is either emitted by

a system when its order decreases, orabsorbed by a system when its orderincreases(Kozyrev, 1991).

A related aspect of torsion is that rotatingobjects generate it. A spinning massproduces a twisting or torsion field aroundit. For a steadily spinning object, there isa steady torsion field extending from bothends of it. The right-handed torsion field,SR, extends in one direction, and the left-

handed field, SL, in the other, along the axisof spin. This is shown in Figure 10. Itundergoes several oscillations, then drops tozero with increasing distance away from therotating object.

The sign of the spin field can be derivedfrom the apparent direction of rotation ofth e ob j ec t a s s een f r om ei th er s i de.Standing on the spin axis on the right handside, and looking toward the sphere, it willappear to rotate counter clockwise, or to theleft, SL. Hence the torsion field in thatlocation is left-handed, as marked on theFigure. Conversely, if one is on the lefthand side in the diagram, then the sphereappears to spin clockwise, or to the right.Hence the stationary torsion field there isright handed, or SR.

The arrow coming out the right side of the

sphere denotes spin direction. It is basedon the right hand rule. If the rotation isthought of in terms of turning a screw, thenthe direction of motion of the screw tells us

which way the spin axis points. In this caseit is to the right.

Since every elementary particle with amass also has a spin, each one generatesits own natural torsion field around it.Einsteins equations of General Relativity,

which describe what happens in an acceler-ating frame, were written without takinginto account the spin of elementaryparticles. Therefore, when a spinningparticle accelerates, its behavior is notcorrectly described by Einsteins equations.Russian torsion theorists have remediedthis problem (Shipov, 1993). Shipov hasextended Einsteins equations to includeparticles with spin, and in the process hascreated a theory which predicts andincludes the observed torsion effects. The

predictions are in accord in a wide arrayof experiments (Akimov, 1992, 1997;Nachalov, 2004).

    23/48

The difference between the acceleration ofan ordinary non-spinning mass and aspinning mass can be illustrated in thefollowing diagram, in Figure 11. In physics,

there are equations which govern rotatingbodies, called the Euler equations. Shipovhas integrated them into the equations ofm ot io n. C on se rva ti on o f a ng ul armomentum (spinning momentum) meansthat space itself is affected when a spinningobject accelerates.

One way of seeing this is by consideringhow the energy of the vacuum must act tomaintain the spin of a particle. There is a

rotating field of energy around a spinningparticle. When the particle accelerates, thisfield of energy must also accelerate. But fora particle undergoing self-orbits, its acceler-ation is different at different parts of theorbit. This will lead to a twisting of theenergy field, and is the origin of torsion.

Another way of thinking about this is toconsider what happens when a spinningparticle accelerates. When sitting still, thereis a radiation field which it creates and

which radiates outward due to its motion. There is also an incoming radiation field

which just balances it. But when a particleaccelerates, the incoming field converges onthe particles old position. The particle isno longer there. It has accelerated away. This is illustrated in Figure 11.

An accelerating, spinning particle will leave

a wake behind it, of energy flowing in andradiating out which does not quite matchup. When the particle was sitting still, these flows of energy matched up, but now

they no longer do. This means that theenergy flow that would have been balancedis now not balanced. This leaves tiny

whirlpools of swirling energy in the vacuumwhich are not absorbed and compensated asthey would have been.

This is one way of understanding whytorsion is created during irreversibleprocesses. An irreversible process causesacceleration of particles. It pushes them outof the equilibrium position they would have

been in. This gives rise to flows of energyin the vacuum that are not compensated. The swirls of energy which are left behindare part of the torsion which is created.

Subtle Energies & Energy Medicine Volume 19 Number 3 Page 65

Figure 11. When a spinning particleaccelerates or changes spin direction, thischanges its radiation field of outgoing andincoming energy. This can be thought of

as creating tiny whirlpools of vacuumenergy which are no longer compensated. This gives rise to additional twisting or

    torsion in the space itself.

    24/48

Torsion can also be viewed as a flux of left-handed and right-handed massless particles

    within the vacuum. The particles representc a rr i er s of tor si on. T h ey a r e c a l led

phitons by some Russian theorists. Therelative number of particles of each spindirection determines the rate of passage oftime. Right handed spin SR originatesfrom local entropy increasing processes. Itrepels mass and carries right hand twist.Because of its action on matter, righthanded spin is the likely source of darkenergy, which repels matter. Likewise, lefthanded torsion, which attracts mass, is thelikely source of dark matter which

    enhances gravitational attraction.

Regions of dark energy and dark matterare nothing more than regions of space

which are charged with right handed or lefthanded torsion, respectively. The torsionpattern creates a matrix within the vacuum. It carries holographic structural informa-

tion which will influence the pattern ofspark breakdown in Kirlian GDV photog-raphy. Just as the biophoton field creates ahologram inside the body to guide theDNA, the torsion field maintains thishologram outside the body and over longdistances.

The rate of time passage depends on thedifference between the right handed torsion

waves and the left handed ones. If there are

more right handed phitons the particle willbe pushed into the future more rapidly. Ifthere are more left handed phitons, theparticle will be pushed toward the past, or

Subtle Energies & Energy Medicine Volume 19 Number 3 Page 66

Figure 12. The Russian model of torsion sees the vacuum as filled with massless, spin one-half particleswhich carry the torsion force. According to Shipov these are called phitons and carry the left and right

handed spins. In some Russian theories, the spin direction correlates with the direction of motion intime, with the right handed particles pushing forward in time. This is the basis for some devices, such as

those of Chernobrov (Chernobrov, 2001), which claim to speed up or slow down time.

  • 5/21/2018 The Torsion Field and the Aura

    25/48

at least the rate at which it moves into thefuture will slow down.

On the average, the number of left and right

handed torsion particles are very nearly inbalance. There is only a slight preponder-a n ce of th e r i gh t h a nded pa rt i cl es.Consequently an electron or other quantumparticle will appear to do a random walk inspace and time, with only a slight averagedrift toward the future.

When we say there is a right handed torsionwave present, it means an excess of righthanded torsion, over and above the normal

background. Such a wave implies there aremore right handed phitons than normal. Italso implies that time will be pushedforward faster in that regime. By contrast,

when we say there are more left handedphitons, it means the excess of right vs lefthanded phitons has been reduced. Theparticle will be pushed forward in timemore slowly in such conditions.

Together the criss-crossing pattern of leftand right handed torsion lines make up asort of fabric, pushing any particlesforward and backward in time. It has beenproposed by Russian theorist Akimov thatthis may be the fundamental fabric of space-time, forming the backdrop for all of thephysics we observe. If this is true, then themore familiar quantities, such as the space-time metric described by Eintein, ride ontop of this structure. If this is correct, then

the curvature Einstein described can beexplained in a more fundamental way bythe density of left and right handed torsion. Here are some of the salient features of

torsion physics, according to Akimov(Akimov, 1995):

    i) Unlike electromagnetism, in torsion

fields energy of the same polarity isattracted to itself and opposite polaritiesare repelled.

ii) Since torsion fields are generated byclassical spin, when a torsion fieldinteracts with an object only its spinstate will change.

iii) Torsion travels through most physicalmedia without loss.

iv) The group velocity of torsion waves isreportedly more than a billion timesgreater than the speed of light.

    v) Since all known substances are made ofphysical particles which have spin, therefore all substances have patterns ofspins, whether regular or random. Thepattern is often connected to thechemical and physical activity of thesubstance. This pattern can be alteredby a torsion field.

vi) Torsion f ields are endowed withmemory. An object with a torsion fieldcauses a polarization of the vacuumenergy surrounding it. The spin canpersist in an object for a time fromseconds to months depending on

whe ther the spin is store d in the

electrons or the nucleus. Spin can evenpersist in space for a time after theinitial object is removed.

    THE GENERATION OFTORSION WAVES

One important generator of torsion is

the changing of the spins of particles. Most important elementary particles, suchas electrons, neutrons and protons, havespin which is built into their nature asquantum particles. They spin on an axis

just like the earth spins around the northpole, or the way a childs top spins. Whena particles spin suddenly changes direction, the particle produces torsion waves (Shipov,1993).

This is especially important in the case ofelectromagnetism. An electron has bothelectrical charge and spin. When it acceler-ates, or changes velocity, it produces anelectromagnetic wave. But along with thisacceleration there is also a change in its spindirection. This is built into the physics ofthe electron. This change of spin directiongenerates torsion waves. Thereforeelectro-magn et i c w a ve s a re a lmo st a lw a ys

    accompanied by torsion waves.

Dr. Gennady Shipov has worked out thepredicted torsion radiation in the presence ofelectromagnetism, and has presented theequations in (Shipov, 1993, 2002). Hisequations are similar to conventional electro-magnetism, but there is an extra term in thecase when a spin flip occurs, or when theplane of motion of the orbit of a chargechanges.

When a charge moves in a circular orbit, itis expected to create electromagnetic waves.

Such a motion is illustrated in Figure 13A.

But if the plane of the orbit changes overtime, then it will also generate torsion

waves, as illustrated in Figure 13B. Torsionwaves can also be produced whenever theelectron changes its spin direction, as shownin Figure 13C. Such a spin flipping alsocreates and radiates torsion waves.

Since it is the acceleration of the electronwhich produces both types of wave, torsionwaves will always be produced when electro-

magnetic waves are. Consequently, mostphotons are accompanied by torsion waves. The light from the sun, for example, willnaturally be accompanied by torsion waves.

Figure 13. Torsion waves are createdwhenever the spin of a particle is changed.Torsion can be thought of as a spin wave

which propagates through space. The topdiagram in the figure depicts a circular orbitin which the plane of the orbit changes overtime. Since the circular orbit defines a spindirection, perpendicular to the plane, it can

also be represented as a change of spindirection with time.

    SPIN AS A STORAGEMEDIUM FORINFORMATION

In most normal materials the spins of itselectrons and nuclei are distributedrandomly. They point in many directions

with no organization or order. Except formagnetic materials, where the spins arealigned by their mutual interaction, thespins of most materials have no pattern tothem. Torsion radiation is unique in thatit can apply a pattern to their spins. Itcan impose a new structure to a substance,

    where there was none before.

Spin information imprinted in the nucleusof atoms can last for years, potentially. Thenucleus of an atom is much heavier thanthe electron, so it has more spin inertia. Ittakes more energy to change its spin. Thenucleus sits in the center of the atom, faraway from the effects of neighboring nuclei. It has a cushion provided by its electroncloud. Consequently, once the spin of the

nucleus has been set in a certain way it willretain this direction for a long time, unlessacted upon by torsion radiation.

This pattern of spins can encode informa-tion. It can later be detected by the torsionfield of another individual. Typical solidobjects contain many, many particles, onthe order of a trillion trillion (thats a trilliontimesa trillion) spins. Each one can theoret-ically hold one bit of information, makinga small stone the potential reservoir formore information than all the computerhard drives on the planet!

Experiments indicate that patterns of spincan be transferred from one material toanother. The recipient material oftenmimics the properties of the first. This has

been tested in experiments transferring theproperties of alcohol to water, for example. When the spin pattern of the water hasbeen set to match that of the alcohol, it issaid to also mimic the flavor and even, inmild form, the inebriating properties, although chemically it is still pure water! This process of transferring spin patternsappears to be the mechanism behindhomeopathy.

Similarly, in psychic phenomena there is aprocess known as psychometry or scrying. It involves holding an object in ones handand deriving impressions about its owner,or about a person who has had long contact

with the object. It is said that contact withthe object charges it with information, and the psychic can read this informationby holding the object.

Although long regarded with skepticism byscientists, this process also appears to beexplainable based on spin patterns held in theobject. It is based on two observations. First, objects can be charged with spin patterns byusing a torsion field. Second, every humanbeing produces his own torsion field, and thiscan be used to transfer a pattern to a materialobject, or to read a pattern stored in amaterial object. In the rest of this article we

will explain how our personal torsion fields

are created, and how they interact withconsciousness so they can be read andconsciously affected and controlled.

    LEVELS OF TORSION EFFECTS

    i) Polarization Effects in the Vacuum:Relative density of left handed versus

right handed torsion particles determinethe time density, and the density ofdark energy and dark matter. Thisis responsible for the presence of yin oryang energy, or in von Reichenbachsterminology, negative and positive od.

ii) Magnetic Moment Effects: It is ourproposal that an increase in right handedtorsion affects the magnetic moment andspin of those electrons, leading to

spontaneous magnetization of otherwisenon-magnetic materials such as stainlesssteel, reported in Reichs laboratory, andin the next chapter by Pavlita and others.Paramagnetic materials will attract andstore such energy.

iii) Precession Effects: Through torsionwaves, the actual phase of precessingquantum particles in an atom can havea n ef f ec t , a n d c a n b e r ea d a n dwritten. In conventional quantumphysics, the precession of phase has onlyb een u s ed f or pa rt i cl es i n s t ron g magnetic fields, such as NMR. Withtorsion fields, each atom can be seen asa set of precession frequencies andphases, which act as a complex identifi-cation of the material. Such patterns offrequencies can be transferred to othermaterials, causing them to mimic certain

properties of the first material. This isalso the basis of the psychic processknown as psychometry. Certain shapessuch as pyramids and cones are optimum

for entraining spins into coherent preces-sion, so geometry may play a role in thelinking precession of many particles.

iv) Long Range Coherence Effects: Whenparticles throughout a material precess inphase with one another, it gives rise to aspecial kind of torsion f ield. It i sbelieved that this is the source for somelong-range entanglement phenomena, such as those seen by Tiller when labora-tories in different states showed entangle-ment (Tiller, 1997, 2001) and in RogerTaylors experiments described inChapters 6 and 10, in which long range

connection of coherent objects wasdetected between England and theUnited States. It is believed that suchcoherence effects can be thought of asmixing two or more parallel physicalplanes to create beat frequencies.

Because different chemical elements havedifferent numbers of spins in their electronsas well as their protons and neutrons, eachmaterial has a unique spin signature.Techniques have been developed enablingt hi s s pi n t o b e r ea d, r ec or de d a ndreproduced, according to some torsionscientists (Kronn, 2008).

    THE ROLE OFBIOPHOTONS

    T

he old picture of biology, prominent inthe 1950s, was based on chemistry.

Life processes were explained in terms ofcomplex organic molecules which bumpedinto each other, carrying out complicated

chemical reactions. When DNA wasdiscovered it was believed that it wouldexplain how the seemingly chaotic soup ofmolecules in the body was governed and

organized to build cells and tissue, as wellas living creatures. But there were stillmany mysteries.

How did the DNA in one part of thehuman body, for example, know that it wassupposed to be building a foot, while theidentical DNA in the head would know itis supposed to be making brain tissue? Thecontrol mechanism that governed thiscomplicated building project was missing.

There are many components to this answer.Part became clear when it was learned thatthe DNA molecule can express itself indifferent ways, based on its interaction withits chromatin. In this way, different proteinsneeded in different organs can be producedas needed. This is part of the specializa-tion and differentiation process. Anotherpart of the answer is that all of thesemechanisms respond to biophotons, whichcan, therefore, control these processes.

The other part of the answer is that thebiophoton field is phase coherent andholographic. This means that its signals canbe different in different parts of the body, depending on the position of the DNA in thehologram. Biophotons come in manyfrequencies, each one produced by sometransition between states in DNA or other

molecules. They form the signaling systemenabling DNA to communicate with itselfand with other molecules throughout thebody. And even more remarkably, the biopho-

tons produced are coherent, meaning theyhave fixed phases just like light in a laser. Thisenables them to erect and maintain ahologram of light signals permeating the body.

This forms a three-dimensional frameworkand pattern which enables all DNA to tellwhere it is in the overall blueprint, which inturn tells it whether it is supposed to bemaking brain tissue or a toenail!

Much of our modern knowledge of biopho-tons comes from the work of Dr. Fritz-

Albert Popp and his associates. It began atthe University of Marburg in 1972, andcontinues today at the International

Institute of Biophysics (IIB) in Germany.Popp explored the hypothesis that biolog-i c a l r eg u l a t i on w i th i n th e b ody w a sgoverned by photons, which controlcommunication and regulation both insidethe cell and between cells (Popp, 1994a).Today his discoveries are recognized fortheir far-reaching importance.

The discovery of biophotons has led to anew model of how the body works. Thecells are seen as the primary building blocks. The machinery of each cell coordinates itsactivities internally and externally byexchanging biophotons with the other cells.Organization occurs cooperatively using apattern supplied by the DNA, which sendsand receives biophotons. According tobiologist Dr. Bruce Lipton:

As a cell biologist I can tell you that you

are in truth a cooperative community of approximately 50 trillion single-celledcitizens. Almost all of the cells that makeup your body are amoeba-like, individual

  • 5/21/2018 The Torsion Field and the Aura

    30/48

organisms that have evolved a cooperatives trategy for their mutual survival .Reduced to basic terms, human beings aresimply the consequence of collective

    amoebic consciousness. (Lipton, 2005)

In this picture, the biophoton serves as theinternet which keeps the cells linkedtogether and acting in unison. Withoutbiophotons, the cells would act indepen-dently, and chaos would ensue. But biopho-tons do more than that. Their energy servesas a catalyst, in the chemical sense. Itcauses certain chemical reactions to occur, and provides the energy to trigger the

    reaction.

The mechanism by which biophotonsinteract grew out of discoveries by Frohlich(Froelich, 1983) who realized that quantizedpackets of light could cause chemical andphysical changes in molecules, and could bethe key element in controlling complicatedbiological processes. DNA is the mastermolecule at creating and absorbing biopho-tons of many frequencies. Because of thisDNA is able to "stage manage the othermolecules in the cell. It is this property, together with DNAs storage of the geneticcode within its base sequence, which enablesit to do its work.

The chemical reactions which go on withina cell could never occur at the rate they do

without help from biophotons. This occursin several ways. The DNA molecule, and

some others, are capable of applying forcesto the other molecules in the cell. Thisenables them to apply a kind of tractorbeam attracting the specific molecules they

need for a certain chemical interaction. Ifnot for this, it would take a very long timefor the right molecules to bump into eachother in the cell. The active control of the

biophotons greatly speeds up the reactionprocess.

The second role biophotons play is as acatalyst. They give an energetic boost tothe interacting molecules. Many of theneeded chemical reactions would not occur

without this. Biophotons enormously speedup the reactions and make them moreefficient. It has been estimated that withoutthe biophotons, the cells would have to

operate at much higher temperatures tohave the reaction rate they do.

And the last role of the biophotons is as anenergetic store. When the chemical reactionis finished, the biophotons are released andg o b a c k i n to s tor a g e i n th e f or m ofmolecular vibrations. Here they are keptuntil needed again, without losing energy orphase information. This is one of the secretsto how life processes are so efficient.

Popp estimates that most of this energy isstored within the DNA, which contributesmor e b i oph oton s th a n a l l th e oth ermolecules combined. It also uses these tocommunicate with the other biomoleculessuch as enzymes, and with the numerousorganelles within the cell, each of which hasspecialized functions. It communicates withthe cell walls, which contain specialized

gates which control the entry of nutrientsand exit of waste from the cell. And theDNA couples to other DNA molecules inother nearby cells. This links the electro-

    31/48

magnetic fields across many cells, creating alocal hologram which serves as theblueprint for cell activity.

Even though the DNA of each cell seemsto be independent, it is coupled to theDNA in the other cells via the biophotons

which they exchange. For each biophotonemitted, there are billions that are stored inthe vibrations of the DNA. These providethe phase reference which allows the lightfrom each cell to keep its rhythm, to stayin step with other biophotons emitted byother cells.

The theory of quantum coherencedeveloped by physicist Roy Glauber(Glauber, 1969) shows that this can be doneeven when the laser involves many modes,as long as they are coupled.

The picture is of an immense super-orchestra with billions of instruments

playing at many different frequencies overa range of seventy-two octaves. Eachinstrument can play its own uniquesongline, with maximum freedom, whilestaying in step with the entire orchestra. This is an analog for the way coherenceand multiple frequencies play a role in thebiological processes (Ho, 1998).

It is this "quantum coherence" which hasbeen shown to be at the root of the beatvariability of a healthy heart, for example. It can be shown that healthy hearts have

more variability in rhythm than unhealthyhearts. Many frequencies are involved butthere is a "high degree of phase coherence"between the different rhythms.

The stored biophotons enable the body tooperate at a high level of energy, and yet atthe same time have a reservoir of energy ontap instantly. This enables the organism to

react when needed. It is how we go soquickly from a resting state to a runningstate. It enabled us to survive the threatsfrom predators when we lived in caves.

Without this high concentration of stored, coherent photons inside the body, life

would be impossible. We would be dead. Therefore keeping most of the photonsinside the body, and coherent, is essentialfor life.

It is helpful to have a rough idea of the sizesof the var ious components involved.

According to Popp, a cell is about 10-3 cm,or about 10 microns in diameter. A micronis a millionth of a meter, or a thousandthof a millimeter. The cell is filled withbiophotons of different frequencies formingan electromagnetic bath of energy. Manychemical processes in the cell start when amolecule or group of molecules absorbs aphoton from this reservoir. This raises thecomplex of molecules to a higher level, preparing it for a chemical reaction. Thisprocess is sketched in Figure 14.

Once the chemical reaction takes place, theexcited complex of molecules gives back itsbiophoton to the electromagnetic bath. The average reaction time for a chemicalreaction of this type is about a billionth ofa second, or 10-9 seconds, so a single stored

photon can trigger a billion reactions persecond. Because the photons are continu-ally returned to the bath, the cell does notneed a large number of them. However,

Subtle Energies & Energy Medicine Volume 19 Number 3 Page 73

  • 5/21/2018 The Torsion Field and the Aura

    32/48

compared to the number of photons whichwould be present in a non-living medium,

there are many more photons found in thecell, between 1010 and 1040 times more. Ithas been estimated that, to achieve thesereaction rates through conventional thermalmeans, would take a reaction temperatureexceeding 3,000 degrees Centigrade. Andsuch a temperature would completelydestroy the organism!

The coherence length is a measure of howmuch correlation there is between photons

in different parts of the body. Since a typicalshift of cell energy (optical transition) takesabout a billionth of a second, at the speedof light the photon will travel about 10

centimeters. This is Popps estimate for thetypical biophoton coherence length. It is

10,000 time longer than a cell. This meansthat a photon crosses many cells, andimplies that the DNA in many adjacentcells will be coupled to the same biopho-tons. This leads to the conclusion that thebiophoton field is coherent over many cells.Over this distance at least, its phase is stableand can form interference patterns.

Popp carried out calculations (Popp, 1989)which concluded that biophotons are stored

primarily in the DNA. In the body it holdsbetween ten million and 100 billion (107 to1011) of them at any one time. It is soefficient at storing them that a photon will

Subtle Energies & Energy Medicine Volume 19 Number 3 Page 74

Figure 14. The role of the biophoton store to promote life processes. Many chemical reactionsneed an energy boost to occur at the needed rate within the body. Adding a biophoton of just theright energy acts like a catalyst, raising the energy of the molecules taking part in a reaction to just

the right level so it increases the reaction rate. In many cases it results in large increases inreaction rate over that which would occur without any biophoton assist. Resonant structures within

the cell enable these reactions to occur in such a way that the extra energy can be recovered afterthe reaction, and returned to the coherent store of biophotons.

vibrate more than a billion billion times(between 1018 to 1020 times) before itsenergy is lost.

Consequently, although only a few biopho-tons are emitted from the skin, there aremany more stored within the body. The

weak flow of biophotons which forms theimages seen in the CCD cameras are merelythe few which got away. The emission ofbiophotons out of the body does not seemto be an important process, except as anindicator of illness. There are so manyphotons stored within the cells that it is tobe expected that a few escape. The storage

    of biophotons is surprisingly effective.

What enables the DNA to communicateover larger distances within the body? Ifthe coherence length is only 10 centimeters, how is phase coherence maintained betweenthe foot and the head? At the present time, there are several possible answers to this. One of these is the torsion field. Torsionis created along with biophotons, and theypenetrate tissue more easily.

    Perhaps the most important contribution isthe acupuncture meridian system. It isknown to carry coherent signals in at leastthe millimeter frequency range (10 GHz to100 GHz), and these signals, because oftheir slower propagation speed in tissue, cancarry f ine scale spatial information,including holographic patterns of tissue andorgans (Sitko, 1993, 1994a, 1994b;

Shaduri, 2005a, 2005b) Through them, abiophoton signal can propagate to all partsof the body, maintaining phase reference sothe resulting biohologram is coherent.

    PHASE-CONJUGATEREFLECTIONS AND THEBIOHOLOGRAM

Given the large number of biophotonsbeing created, what keeps all this energyinside the body? While some is stored inindividual DNA molecules, the coherencelength of 10 centimeters or more means thatmany biophotons propagate through thecells. Measurements with sensitive camerasshow that only a very small number of theseemerge from the skin, so most must bereflected by the tissue and kept inside the

body. This reflection must be highly efficientto keep most of the biophoton energy inside. But there is a second requirement: thebiophotons must remain phase coherentinside the body after being reflected.

If the skin and tissue acted like simplemirrors, then each time a biophoton wasreflected it would bounce back at a differentangle, creating a chaotic mess of electro-magnetic energy within the organism. It

would not be possible to create or maintaina coherent holographic pattern of energy. This is illustrated in Figure 15.

The first panel on the left in Figure 16illustrates a wave which undergoes specular,mirror-type reflection at a boundary. Itrepresents what would happen if a biophoton

were internally reflected inside the body. When such a wave encounters a reflection,it goes off at a different angle, and does notcombine with the initial wave. It will notcreate a standing wave pattern. This resultsin a chaotic jumble of waves inside the body.
