President’s pen This has been a big couple of months for our members at swimming meets. The team at the Na onals performed with great pride and returned home with a swag of medals. Pictures and their achievements are in the newsle er A special note goes to Trudy Padro who competed at her first swim meet at Noosa on the week end of the 17th May, Congratula ons to Trudy for ge ng in and having ago. It would have been good to have more members there to support her. Our swim meet is scheduled for September 13th, so have a go at a swim meet you may just have a bit of fun. Away from swim meets, Marcus cooked up a storm on the BBQ on the 18th and a number of members took advantage of the free swim offer by comple ng a 400m, Endurance 1000 swim. Don't worry it will be on again next month.
Don't let the cooler weather keep you away from the pool, the water temperature is perfect. Now is the best me to start working on your fitness for Christmas, there is less than 200 days ll Santa is here again. We have had a number of members on the not so well list of late and we wish them all a speedy recovery. The gym sessions on Monday night and Wednesday mornings are picking up in numbers, these dry land sessions can improve your strength and fitness which can lead to faster mes in the pool. All are welcome but numbers are limited. Un l next me, Lou.

Captain’s report Once again, me has past rather quickly since the last edi on of Tadpole News and there has been plenty of ac vity and a few stories and achievements to tell. A big thank you and congratula ons to Trudy Padro for her sterling efforts at Noosa meet on 17th May. Although she may feel as though her dive let her down, there is no taking away the effort and determina on shown by her not only to compete, but to be sole representa ve to fly the flag for our club at that meet. Once again, thanks Trudy and keep persevering, because the more you prac‐se eventually all your hard work will pay off.
Great to see some new swimmers taking the plunge (some of us know how much Maree enjoys being on deck when that happens!!). Alt‐hough the nights are, at mes, clear and cool, the water temperature has been really good, so if you haven’t been swimming in a while come along and join in. Don’t forget our very own upcoming swim meet on 13th September. More details to follow, however, it would be great to see as many members as possible ‘having a go’! Finally, thanks to everyone that has sponsored me in the Brissie to Bay Bike Ride. Your dona ons are gratefully accepted by myself and I’m sure by MS Queensland. Now all I have to do is don the lycra (I know that is probably a very bad mental image, so no visualising thanks Shane) and pedal off on the 22nd June and enjoy the ride. Remember it’s not long now to our swim meet in September, so keep following the black line. Til next me—Fitness, Friendship and Fun. Wayne

2014 State and National Championships, Rockhampton Toowoomba Tadpole Results
This event was over four days with the OWS swim on the fifth day. This was a demanding meet for all. Our team performed exceptionally well and from the results it can be seen they were well rewarded. There were plenty of PBs and the challenge of the 50m pool was exactly that a challenge. Not only did we see some great swimming from our members but there was plenty of laughter and comradery. Congratulations to all that competed and thanks for a great time. Lou
