The chlorosulphate anion is coordinated to the metal in a unidentate as well as a bidentate manner in different complexes, which show a strong interaction of the SO$l- anion and the complex cations (ML,)+. All the complexes of Co(I1) and Mn(I1) are supposed to have octahedral geometry. The Ni(I1) complexes are probably tetragonally octahedral, whereas the Zn(I1) complexes are tetrahedral. However, a square planar configuration is tentatively suggested for Cu(I1) complexes. SHORT NOTE

The synthesis, spectral and magnetic properties of complexes of some transition metal chlorosulphates with thiazoles and thiocarhamate

(Received 11 September 1993; in final form 13 October 1993; accepted 9 November 1993)

COORDINATION compounds of transition metal chlorosulphates of the type M(L),(SO&I),, M = Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Mn(I1) and Cu(II), L = 2-acetamido-S-nitrothiaxole, 2-aminothiaxole, 2-mercaptobenzothiazole and sodium diethyl dithiocarbamate with n= 1, 2 and 4 are reported. The chlorosulphate anion is coordinated to the metal in a unidentate as well as a bidentate manner in different complexes, which show a strong interaction of the SO$l- anion and the complex cations (ML,)+.
