Case eP and PS
Monday morning…

Pharmacy
Case eP and PS At the pharmacy…..
1. Anna identifies herself 2. The pharmacist requests for validation of the identity and receives a
confirmation from the Swedish NCP 3. After having obtained Anna’s consent, the pharmacist requests for
Anna’s list of ‘available’ prescriptions from the prescription repository in Sweden
4. The pharmacist also wants to have a look at Anna’s medication summary and sends a request for information
5. Before the medicine is dispensed the pharmacist reports the information on this dispensing event and receives a confirmation from Sweden

The added value of epSOS
• Puts eHealth-services closer to the citizen
• A first stepping-stone for further development
• Through the National Contact Point all Swedish
regions will reach epSOS in a uniformed way –
increases value of investments allready made.
• Boosts implementation of the National infrastructure-components
– Security Services, IDM, terminology etc.
• Highlights important issues concerning interoperatbility and international collaboration on standards etc.
