Easter Triduum at St. AnselmsMaundy Thursday: Start of the Easter Triduum

10.00am Stations of the cross and Rosary 3.00pm Divine Mercy Devotion and Rosary

Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper: 8.00pm: We commemorate the Institution of the Eucharist, the Institution of the priesthood and Christ’s commandment of brotherly love.There will be watching until Midnight, but the Blessed Sacrament will be in the normal tabernacle. We ask that people pray to Jesus in the tabernacle upto Midnight, and there will be a special show of candles and flowers round the tabernacle.

Holy Saturday:10.30am Rosary 3.00pm Divine Mercy Devotion and RosaryThis is the day of repose when the Church is at it were at the Lord’s tomb, meditating on his passion and death,  on his descent into the place of the dead.  She awaits resurrection with prayer and fasting.

The Easter Vigil 8.30pm:  Four parts to the vigil:1. The preparation of the Easter Candle, the singing of the exultet.   2.  Liturgy of the Word  3. Liturgy

In this time when one may not receive ‘sacramental’ Communion,  the traditional idea of ‘spiritual’ Communion comes into focus.  Here is one:
