Sunway College's pre-university programmes

Sunway College offers four pre-university programmes to suit

different requirements, preferred modes of study and academic assess­ments.

The programmes offered are Australian Matriculation Programme (Ausmat), Cambridge Board's GCE A-Level, Canadian International Matriculation (CIMP) and Monash University Foun­dation Year (Mufy).

Ausmat provides the qualitfications for entry to universities in all states of Australia and most univer­sities in the UK, Canada, New Zealand and the US.

The Ausmat pro­gramme is designed to help students excel - its regular coursework is graded and added to the final marks.

The Tertiary Entrance Score subjects offered by the college are examined

in the Tertiary Entrance Examinations which are public examinations con­ducted by the Western Aus­tralian Government through its representative body, the Curriculum Council in Perth.

To graduate with the Western Australian Cer­tificate of Education, stu­dents need to successfully complete English or Eng­lish as a Second Language and four subjects.

One of the most widely recognised pre-university qualifications offered by the college since 1989 is the A-Level programme. It offers a wide range of sub­jects including Account­ing, Economics, Law, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Furthur Mathematics, History, Gen­eral Paper and English.

A qualification in this course is widely accepted at universities in the UK, the US, Australia, New

Zealand, India and Singa­pore. Its is also accepted by Monash University's branch campus in Malaysia and all twinning degree courses offered at Sunway

• CIMP is for students looking for a change of pace and it offers the flexi­bility of a part course-work-part examination course. This programme is ideal for entry require­ments into all internation­al universities.

For the college's 21st CIMP graduation ceremo­ny, 183 students received their diplomas of which 36 received homours and 13 distinctions. Eighteen oth­ers were awarded Certifi­cates of Recognition for outstanding leadership. CIMP offers two intakes a year in January and July.

course guarantees a place­ment in the undergraduate course of the student's choice at Monash on meet­ing entry requirements. Sunway is the only college in the country designated by Monash University to offer the programme.

Similiar to Ausmat, Mufy programmes also assess both coursework and final examination results. Sunway offers the programme thrice a year in February, March and September

In addition to the pre-university programmes, Sunway offers twinning

degree programmes with renowned universities in Australia, Canada, the US and the UK. There are also hospitality, IT, profession­al, financial and English language courses.
