I would like to tell you about Paris. It is the city of my dream. Paris is the capital of France, it’s economic and cultural center. It arose

from a small fishing village located on an island on the river. This island is named the City which means "city".

The village soon became a small town. The Romans gave the city the name of Lutetia.

Finally, we changed the name of Lutetia by the name of the inhabitants of the town “Parisii”.

The territory of Paris is about 105 km2 now.The population is about 2,233,818 inhabitants.

The city is full of sights and tourist attractions, including charming architecture, numerous bridges and squares. There are more than 130 museums and 1800 historic places there.

As befits one of the most historic buildings in Paris is the Notre Dame Cathedral in the heart of the city. Earlier, in the III-IV century on the site housed a temple , and later, when the Romans ended their reign , there was erected the first Christian church in Paris.

Construction was started in 1163 , but the most easily recognizable part of the structure , where the main entrance, consisting of three massive doors, as well as two rectangular towers, began to build only in 1200. Fully construction and decoration of the ball completed by 1345.
