GRACC Awards Banquet

Saturday, September 17th St. Mary’s Church Hall

Happy Fall to Everyone,Thank you to all the members who was able to attend our 2016 Car Club Awards Banquet.

Although our attendance was down from last year, it was nice to see members that were unable to attend in the past to be there this year.   We heard many compliments of the food, and location again this year. The 50-50 was won by one of our newer members Tami Gordon, she won $63.00 – way to go Tami!!

For 2017 I am looking at booking again with same caterer and location.  I do like the new time of year this time.  It allows us to gather while the weather is still kind to us and more time with our families during the busy holiday seasons.

We would like to say a big thank you to Carl, Ruth, Roseanne, Arlene, our son Michael & anyone else for all their help with either the set up or tear down.  MANY hands make light work.

Thank you again and we hope all can enjoy the upcoming holidays with their families in good health.Sean & Cindy Smith

Fall One Day TourSaturday, Sept 24th

We had a good group of cars, approximately 18. Hopefully everyone enjoyed David Rice’s tour of his cars. Anyone that didn’t go missed a very good display. We toured from the Rice’s to Cedar Springs to visit the Cedar Spring Historical Museum. The museum has lots of items from the history of the area. From there we had lunch at the Cedar Springs Brewery. We had 24 people for lunch. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the food. Some of the group than toured to Frosty Bay for Ice Cream. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the tour. Thanks to all that came out. (Photos courtesy of Fred Brailey – THANKS!)Your hosts for the day are Denny Biggins and Al Preisner

Twelfth Annual 28th Street Metro Cruise®Saturday, August 27th

Metro Cruise Report

On August 27, 2016, it rained extensively and even poured at times. It was soon decided to cancel the GRACC gathering for the Metro Cruise. But what to do with all the food and potluck items that were ready to go before this Saturday morning? It didn’t take long to realize that we could not let this food go to waste, and of course, eating together is always important no matter what the weather is. Therefore, everyone was invited to come to the De Lange picnic pavilion and enjoy a time of fellowship and dining together. Approximately at noon, 20 members had arrived and a good time with plenty to eat was enjoyed by all. Your hosts Leon & Shirley DeLange

Have you ever met someone with an old car and talked to them about our club? Did you know that if you get their name and address, we can send them a ‘Welcome Packet’. It includes an introduction letter, giving them a bit of history on the club, what activities we do, such a nursing home visits, parades, other events, and tours. Plus what happens at our meetings, such as speakers, potlucks, the Annual Auction, plus. Also included is an application and two or three past newsletters to give the prospective member an idea of what we do and where we go. SO – pass along the name and address to me – Bonnie Woodman and I’ll get the ‘packet’ sent out.

Odds & Ends

RAFFLE PRIZE WINNER for the September meeting was Fred Brailey, with winnings of $34.00 (which $20 of he gave back to the club)
