The Spiritual Foundation of
The Cary Masjid
Governance
Why Cary Masjid?
• A CLOSE PROXIMITY MASJID
TO OFFER FIVE DAILY SALAH
• CHOICE TO PRACTICE YOUR MADHAB
There is no compulsion and coercion
in regard to religion
[Al-Baqarah 2:256]
The Spiritual Foundation
And remind them (O Muhammad SAW) for
verily, the reminding profits the believers.
And I (Allah) did not create the jinns and humans
except to worship Me (Alone).
Az-Zariyat 51:55-56
The Spiritual Foundation
O you who believe!
Enter into Islam completely (and perfectly)
[Al-Baqarah 2:208]
O you who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared;
and do not die except in a state of Islam
with complete submission to Allah
Ale Imran 3:102
The Spiritual Path
And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah
(i.e. this Quran & Sunnah), and do not be divided. [Ale Imran 3:103]
“O People! No Prophet or Apostle will come after me
and no new faith will be born.
Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand my
words which I convey to you.
I leave behind me two things, the QUR'AN and my
example, the SUNNAH and if you follow these you will
never go astray.” [The Last Sermon]
The Spiritual Path
(O Messenger!) Tell people: 'If you indeed
love Allah, follow me, and Allah will love
you and will forgive you your sins.) [Ale Imran 3:31]
And whoso obey Allah and RasulAllahSAW, they will be in the
company of those on whom Allah has bestowed His Grace, of the
Prophets, the Siddiqeen , the martyrs, and the righteous.
And how excellent these companions are! [An-Nisa 4:69]
The Spiritual Approach
Indeed Allah conferred a great favor on
the believers when He sent among them a
Messenger (Muhammad SAW) from
among themselves, reciting unto them His
Verses (the Quran), and purifying them,
and teaching them (in) the Book (the
Quran) and AlHikmah (the wisdom and
the Sunnah of the Prophet SAW). [Ale Imran 3:164]
The Spiritual Approach
By Al-’Asr (the time). Verily! Man is in loss.
Except those who believe and
do righteous good deeds (Ehasanul ‘Amal),
and recommend one another to the truth,
and recommend one another to patience.
[Al-’Asr 103]
Endearing the Quran
This is the Book (the Quran),
whereof there is no doubt,
a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqoon. [Al-Baqarah 2:2]
(This is) a Book (the Quran) which
We have sent down to you,
full of blessings that they may ponder over its Verses,
and that men of understanding may remember. [Saad 38:29]
Endearing the Quran
… and recite the Quran (aloud) in a slow,
(pleasant tone and) style . . [Al-Muzzammil 73:4]
“The ProphetSAW would recite a Surah in such
slow rhythm tones that it would appear longer
than actual.” [Muslim]
The Purification of Heart
Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ownself . [Ash-Shams 91:9-10]
RasulAllahSAW said:
Truly, in the body there is a morsel of flesh,
that if it be whole, all the body is whole;
and if it be diseased, all of it is diseased.
Truly, it the heart (Qalb.) [Bukahri]
The Purification of Heart
So, you remember Me, and
I will remember you. [Al-Baqarah 2:152]
The Day when neither wealth nor sons will avail,
Except him who brings to Allah a purified heart . [Ash-Shuara 26:88-89]
The Purification of Heart
And keep yourself (O MuhammadSAW) patiently in the
company of those who call on their Lord in the morning and
afternoon, seeking His Face, and let not your eyes overlook
them, desiring the pomp and glitter of the life of the world;
and obey not him whose heart We have made heedless of
Our Zikr, one who follows his own lusts and whose affair
(deeds) has been lost. [Al-Kahf 18:28]
Love of the ProphetSAW and
the Sunnah
Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad SAW)
you have a good example to follow
for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allah
and the Last Day and remembers Allah much. [Al-Ahzaab 33:21]
Importance of Nafl Ibadah
So, you remember Me, and
I will remember you. [Al-Baqarah 2:152]
Importance of Excellence in
Worship (Ehsan)
So, you remember Me, and
I will remember you. [Al-Baqarah 2:152]
Importance of Excellence in
Worship (Ehsan)
Truly, Allah is with those who have Taqwah,
and those who are Muhsinoon .
[An-Nahl 16:128]
Dawah & Tableegh
Let there arise out of you a group of people
inviting to all that is good (Islam),
enjoining Al-Maroof (pious deeds) and
forbidding Al-Munkar (evil deeds).
And it is they who are the successful. [Al-Baqarah 2:152]
Protecting the Ibadah
Let there arise out of you a group of people
inviting to all that is good (Islam),
enjoining Al-Maroof (pious deeds) and
forbidding Al-Munkar (evil deeds).
And it is they who are the successful. [Al-Baqarah 2:152]
Protecting the Ibadah
And those who strictly guard their prayers;
Those are the inheritors;
Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise).
They shall dwell therein forever.
[Al-Muminoon 23:9-11]
Protecting the Ibadah
Say: If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your
kindred, the wealth that you have gained, the commerce in which
you fear a decline, and the dwellings in which you delight … are
dearer to you than Allah and His Messenger, and striving hard and
fighting in His Cause, then wait until Allah brings about His
Decision (torment). And Allah guides not the people who are Al-
Fasiqoon (the rebellious, disobedient to Allah). [At-Taubah 9:24]
Decision Criteria in Dispute
(And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves,
refer it to Allah and His MessengerSAW,
if you believe in Allah and in the Last Day.
That is better and more suitable for final determination.
[An-Nisa 4:59]
Decision Criteria in Dispute
• Sometime after the ProphetSAW had returned to Madinah, messengers of the kings of Yemen came to him announcing that they and the people of Yemen had become Muslims. They requested that some teachers should be sent to teach Islam to the people. The ProphetSAW commissioned a group of competent companions and made Muadh ibn JabalRA their amir. He then put the following question to Muadh:
• "According to what will you judge?" He replied: "According to the Book of God,"
• "And if you find nothing therein?" He replied: "According to the Sunnah of the Prophet of God."
• "And if you find nothing therein?" He replied: "Then I will exert myself (exercise ijtihad) to form my own judgment."
• The ProphetSAW was pleased with this reply and said: "Praise be to God Who has guided the messenger of the ProphetSAW to that which pleases the ProphetSAW."
• The ProphetSAW then told MuadRA that this is last time he would see him and when he comes back to Madinah he will see only the Prophets Rowdah and Masjid.
[Fiqh As Sunnah]
The Fiqh Approach
• Conservative in Faraid, Wajib, Makrooh, and Haram
• Enthusiastic and liberal in Nawafil
• Hanafi base but respectful of all Madhab
The Road to Jannah
The Spirit of Establishing
the Cary Masjid
Verily, the mosque whose foundation was laid from the
first day on piety is more worthy that you stand therein
(to pray). In it are men who love to clean and to purify
themselves. And Allah loves those who make themselves
clean and pure. [At-Taubah 9:108]
Doing what we Preach!
O you who believe! Why do you say that which
you do not do?
Most hateful it is with Allah that you say that
which you do not do.
[As-Saff 61:2-3]
