Jon Snow - journalist and presenter, Channel 4

News• Jon Snow has been the face of Channel 4 News since 1989. He joined ITN in 1976 and became Washington Correspondent in 1984. Since then, he has travelled the world to cover the news - from the fall of the Berlin Wall and the release of Nelson Mandela, to Barack Obama’s inauguration and the earthquake in Haiti.

• His many awards include the Richard Dimbleby BAFTA award for Best Factual Contribution to Television (2005), the Royal Television Society awards for Journalist of the Year (2006) and Presenter of the Year (2009).

• Jon also writes Snowblog - a unique take on the day’s events - and Snowmail - a preview of the evenings main stories.

Destiny Ekaragha - director

• Destiny Ekaragha recently directed her first feature film, Gone too Far! (Poisson Rouge Pictures/BFI Film Fund), adapted from Bola Agbaje’s stage play, Gone too Far! premiered at the 57th BFI London Film Festival in October 2013 where Destiny was also nominated as ‘Best Newcomer’.

• It released this autumn and she is currently working on a sequel, part set in Nigeria.

• Other awards include: Rising Star Award at the Screen Nation Awards; 2014 Discovery Award at the London Comedy Film Festival, an Independent Spirit Award at Screen Nation; Best Newcomer Award at the Soho Rushes Film Festival.

• She was awarded a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit Award in October 2014. She has a number of features in development, including a second with the BFI.

Pete Fraser• Pete Fraser has taught Film and Media Studies

for nearly 30 years, and ran one of the UK’s biggest sixth form Media departments.

• He is a senior examiner with an awarding body. Chair of the Media Education Association, and blogs regularly for MediaMagazine at petesmediablog.

• For the past two years he has been project lead on the BFI Film Academy residential for 16-19 year olds at the National Film and Television School.

Jake Wynne - director and editor

• Jake Wynne is a former media student who over his career has directed a massive range of award winning commercials and music promos, including videos for the Spice Girls, Robbie Williams, Super Furry Animals, Paul Weller, Spiritualised and many more.

• His commercials work has included spots for Nescafe, BMW, Nike, Playstation, and Shelter.

• Jake was a top 3 finalist in the 2012 SCI FI LONDON 48 hour Film Challenge, and is now developing feature film screenplays and short films.

Owen Jones - columnist and author

• Owen Jones is a columnist, author and commentator who describes himself as a 4th generation socialist.

• He has worked as a trades union lobbyist and parliamentary researcher for the Labour Party, before launching his career as a columnist for The Independent, and most recently, The Guardian.

• He has appeared on Question Time, Newsnight, Channel 4 and Sky News and is Policy and Media Advisor for The Centre for Labour and Social Studies.

• He is best known for his influential award winning book Chavs: The demonisation of the Working Class (2011).
