The Spa at the Heritage Killenard offers a touch of tranquillity in a contemporary and luxurious setting.

With 14 treatment rooms including Pedi Spa, Mud Chambers and Hamam, set in an oasis of calm, a

selection of wonderful treatments and packages will allow you to indulge in a truly world class spa experience.

The Heritage Spa Experience provides an unrivalled heat and cooling journey. Extensive relaxation areas will complete your

therapy as you melt into the surrounding Laois countryside.

We believe in results. Through the use of the leading ESPA and VOYA products, we are able to deliver the highest quality

professional treatments tailored to your individual needs.

Every ESPA treatment commences with a detailed personal consultation. This allows the therapist to discuss your needs

and find the perfect solution to your concerns. A sensory test is incorporated to establish which products are best suited to you and allowing the therapist to totally personalise the treatment

to achieve the best results possible.

Attentive and individualised service is the hallmark of the Heritage Killenard. We will ensure that your time with us is

The Heritage Spa Experience*

The Heritage Spa Experience is based on the ancient ritual of bathing where the body is heated and then cooled by a series of heat and cooling experiences. The extensive 7,000 sq ft area guides your body through a sensory journey with the ultimate aim of inducing deep relaxation.

Useful tips:Each ‘experience’ has a different effect – read the recommended time to spend in each thermal experience. Temperatures and instructions are clearly posted outside each area. Cool off in between each heat experience by using the ice fountain and showers provided.

Drink plenty of water to re-hydrate the body during your stay. Water is provided at the refreshments bar. Swimwear is obligatory in The Heritage Spa Experience area at all times. For hygienic reasons please shower before use and between each ‘experience’. Try following one of our recommended Heritage Spa Experience journey maps. If in doubt please ask one of the Spa team and they will be happy to guide and assist you.

Heat experienceThe experiences on offer have their roots in cleansing and beautifying the body. They originate from cultures dating back thousands of years:

SanariumThis is a luxurious timber chamber combining the traditional pleasures of the Scandinavian sauna with the added benefit of steam infusion, mood lighting and background music. The ‘softer climate’ will allow you to spend longer in the cabin so the heat can deeply penetrate the body and soothe joints and muscles.

TepidariumIn the Roman Spa the Tepidarium was a lukewarm lounging area usually located in the opulent hall of the spa. It gave spa bathers the opportunity to unwind whilst watching the world go by.

CaldariumA 2000 year old Roman tradition. The floor, benches and walls are heated offering a dry, warm environment for perspiring and cleansing the pores.

Steam bathA humid heating sensation also known as a Turkish or Roman Steam Bath. Particularly beneficial for the respiratory system. The heat in combination with essential oils helps induce a state of deep relaxation.

Rustic sauna cabin A Finnish tradition offering intense dry heat. An authentic copper kettle disperses aromatic water over the coals to create warmth and essence in the cabin. This large rustic space offers an ideal environment to unravel your mind and rest tired, aching muscles.

Cooling experienceIt is important to cool down after using one of the heat experiences. Cooling the soft tissues not only moderates your body temperature, it invigorates the body and stimulates the nerve endings leaving you feeling refreshed & energised:

Ice fountainGently apply crushed ice onto the body to counteract the warming effects of the heat experience.

Experience showersFabulous showers offering a multi-sensory experience to help cool the body, from soft tropical rain to invigorating ice rain. A waterfall shower, bucket douche, body shower and Kneippe hose complete the experience.

Hydro experienceAs two thirds of the human body is comprised of water it is no surprise that we are naturally drawn towards this nurturing natural element:

Open air hydro-poolWith water fountains for shoulder and neck massage, air loungers for full body massage plus individual jetpacks tailored to specific hydrotherapeutic needs.

Foot bathsOffering a gentle relaxing foot soak massage to soothe and stimulate the feet. Aromatic salts are provided to offer a variety of sensations and therapeutic effects.

Resting zoneLie back and relax as you take some time out in the ‘Resting Zone’. Sip a cold beverage to hydrate as you appreciate the breathtaking country views.

ESPA facialsOur facials begin with a detailed consultation and in-depth skin analysis using SkinVision technology to identify skin conditions not visible to the naked eye. Your facial is specifically tailored to you, to include cleansing, exfoliation, steam and extraction where necessary, and a treatment specific massage, mask and intensive serum. Finally, skincare products are chosen for your individual needs to achieve the best possible results.

To maintain the ultimate in healthy radiant skin we recommend a facial once a month.

Advanced Skin Radiance Facial 1 hr 30 mins 140Restore skin’s vitality and reveal a bright, smooth and radiantly youthful-looking complexion with our advanced new facial treatment.

Suitable for all skin types and ages, this treatment combines our unique Optimal Skin ProCleanser, which gently exfoliates as it melts into the skin, with a deep brush cleanse and brightening mask to remove dead skin cells.

An age defying and sublimely relaxing massage using rose quartz crystals follows, finishing with a Lifting and Smoothing Mask and our revolutionary new Skin Radiance Intensive Serum – to powerfully brighten, firm and even skin tone, leaving your complexion smooth, supple and looking radiantly healthy.

Cellular Renewal Facial 1 hr 30 mins 140This advanced facial, using Super Active products, is a highly effective treatment that delivers immediate results, helping to reduce pigmentation, fines lines and wrinkles, revealing instant skin radiance.

The ESPA Professional Enzyme Peel contains AHA’S, Pumpkin Enzymes, Lactic acid or Glycolic acid, giving a dramatic impact targeting the removal of dead skin cells, making skin noticeably smoother, softer and clearer. The peel has been blended using only the highest quality, completely natural and highly effective ingredients.

Skin Radiance Facial 1 hr 95This revitalising facial treatment helps refresh tired skin, giving a noticeably brighter and naturally radiant appearance. Salt & Oil Scrub 30 mins 60This exceptional skin softening body exfoliation combines sea salts with essential oils to leave your skin nourished, smooth and supple. Perfect as a stand-alone treatment, or in preparation for an ESPA massage. For a lighter application exfoliating body polish is applied instead of Salt & Oil Scrub.

ESPA Detox Wrap 1 hr 99A body wrap specifically designed to comfortably raise the temperature and induce perspiration to help speed up the elimination of toxins and improve circulation.Following skin brushing and exfoliation, a complete body wrap of Marine Algae combined with Detoxifying Body Oil is blended and applied to help purify the body and hydrate the skin. ESPA Maternity Pre & Post 30 mins 60Natal Treatment 1 hr 90A deeply nourishing body massage designed to target areas prone to stress and tension during or after pregnancy. Gentle back exfoliation, if required, is followed by a soothing body massage specifically designed to suit your individual concerns, focusing on the areas needed to alleviate muscular aches, whilst helping to relax, restore and revitalise.

A course of 6 treatments is recommended following the first trimester of pregnancy.

VOYA Deluxe 1 hr 20 mins 110 Facial ExperienceThis revolutionary seaweed facial is a truly indulgent treatment. It begins with a back body brushing and back massage which is followed by a relaxing light neck and shoulder massage. Then for the organic facial, we use finely ground wet organic seaweed to gently exfoliate your face and then place freshly harvested organic seaweed leaves on your face. Finally, we combine the mask with a light head massage. This is the crème de la crème of all facials - it will deeply renew, revive and soften dry and dehydrated skin, alleviating fine lines and wrinkles.

VOYA Hot Stone Massage 1 hr 105A different type of massage, ideal for deep tissue treatment. Firstly, we combine aromatic organic essential oils with leaves of seaweed and then place heated stones onto these leaves all over the body. The heat of these stones soothes the muscles while releasing the precious extracts below.

VOYA Seaweed Wrap 1 hr 20 mins 120A truly amazing body therapy from VOYA. The body is cocooned in organically treated muslin and then wrapped in a thermal blanket. This treatment detoxifies, firms and softens the skin and it is an excellent addition to a weight loss programme. You will also receive a relaxing head massage during this ultimate spa treatment. Only the finest seaweed, harvested by hand from the ocean, is used to ensure that the highest content of bio-actives is preserved.

Arrival timeGuests are advised to arrive 1 hour before the treatments commence to relax and enjoy the surroundings. If clients are late for their appointment the time will be deducted from the length of the scheduled treatment. If your package includes The Heritage Spa Experience we recommend you allow a minimum of 1 hour before or following a treatment to fully utilise the area.

What to bringFor all treatments we will provide you with a luxury bathrobe, towel and slippers. Swimwear is obligatory in The Heritage Spa Experience area at all times.

EtiquetteAs a courtesy to other clients and to preserve the ambiance of the Spa we request that clients switch off their mobile phones and leave them in the locker area. Smoking is strictly prohibited.

Cancellation policyAs a courtesy to other guests and our therapists, please give us at least 72 hours notice should you need to cancel or alter your appointment*. Please note that there is a cancellation fee of 50% if the treatment is cancelled less then 72 hours prior to the booking. Likewise, no shows will be charged at 100% of the treatment price.
