advanced loan structure, pricing for profi tability, commercial real estate lending, and new approaches to managing problem loans and portfolio credit risk.

The program, with housing optional, provides instruction applicable to both com-munity and holding company bankers. Commercial lenders, relationship manag-ers, portfolio managers, senior credit managers, and others who currently are re-sponsible for or are interested in profi tably growing the bank’s loan portfolio and better managing portfolio credit risk will all benefi t from the school’s courses.

FACULTY John R. Barrickman , president, New Horizons Financial Group, Atlanta, GA, has extensive ex-perience teaching and lecturing on econom-ics, credit analysis, and commercial lending and

over 35 years of banking experience. He is the author of the ABA commercial loan curriculum and is the lead instructor in The Southeastern School of Commercial LendingSMLendingSMLending . Barrickman is an instructor for a number of banks and professional organizations and serves on the faculty of three of the six graduate schools of banking around the country.

Michael Hendren is senior vice president of Pinnacle Financial Partners, responsible for com-mercial real estate lending and portfolio management in Mid-dle Tennessee. He has more than 24 years of banking experience including commercial lending, commercial real estate lending, and loan rehabilitation and

work-out. Hendren is a member of the faculty of RMA, the Pacifi c Coast Banking School, and the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, WI, and has conducted real estate lending seminars for banking associa tions in Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, and Ohio.

CURRICULUMThe school features a professionally de-signed curriculum, developed by a highly respected group of bankers and profession-al educators and presented by experienced industry practitioners. Lectures, classroom exercises, and case studies combine to deliver the course material in an effective manner that can be put to use immediately upon returning to your institution.

ADMISSION / PREREQUISITESDue to the intensity of the school, admis-sion is restricted to those who have a mini-mum of three years of commercial lending experience or are graduates of The South-eastern School of Commercial LendingSM

or other comparable lending school and currently are responsible for, or interested in assuming, portfolio and risk manage-ment responsibilities. Student performance is based solely on class attendance and participation, with no examinations.

Participation in TBA programs is limited to members, associate members, and nonmem-bers from an eligible membership category at applicable member or nonmember rates.

TUITION

Tuition includes instruction, classroom materials, and morning and afternoon refreshments. Cost of housing and meals is not included in tuition. The TBA offers a discounted tuition for early applicants. To qualify for the discount, TBA must receive these applications by the close of business on January 25, 2008. After January 25, standard tuition applies.

Tuition is due and payable with application. Discounted tuition deadline is January 25, 2008. Any applicant withdrawing after January 25, 2008, but before February 4, 2008, will be refunded all fees except a $150 cancellation fee. There is no refund, with the exception of extenuating circumstances, if a registrant withdraws after February 4, 2008, or fails to attend the school. Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the TBA.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITGraduates qualify for 21 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit in the area of Specialized Knowledge and Application. Tennessee Bankers Association is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.
