Church Wide Meeting for Input
To The Long Range Plan Saturday, August 17
8:30-11:30am in the Thorpe Bldg. The Long Range Planning Committee has been
actively engaged in gathering information to prepare our long range plan. They need your input to
complete this document. Please join them for this important meeting.
Dear Church Family, Over the past several months, your Long Range Planning Committee has been meeting. We have read a book entitled “Twelve Keys to an Effective Church”, written by Kennon L. Callahan. The book is very insightful and after reading it, we came back together to share information and to make recommendations on areas that we feel are working effectively in the life of SSUMC and areas that need improving, and perhaps some ideas of new programs we could offer. A lot of prayer has gone into this process. Hopefully, you have noticed in the church bulletin and heard from the pulpit that we are planning a meeting Saturday, August 17 and you are invited and encouraged to attend to express your input or perhaps just to listen and observe where we believe God is guiding us as a committee to develop a 5 year plan for SSUMC. We are being led through this process by Rev. Dr. Phil Schroeder, who has helped numerous churches develop a strategic plan to move forward in ministry. Dr. Schroeder will be with us during the Saturday meeting and will also be delivering our message from the pulpit Sunday, August 18. Please know that we value your input and want you to be a part of this exciting time in the life of our church. Pray for the committee, that we would be receptive to God’s vision for the future of St. Simons UMC. Blessings to you all, through Christ, John Bird Daniel Chairman. LRPC
