The  Band    The  Soul   Jam  is  a  15  piece   fully   live  show  band  featuring  three  vocalists,  a   =ive  piece  rhythm  section  and  a  seven  piece  horn  section.      This  lineup  makes  The  Soul  Jam  one  of  very  few  bands  that  can  accurately  replicate  the  original  sounds  of  Soul,  Motown  and  the  classic  R’n’B  hits  from  the  60’s  &  70’s.    The  Soul  Jam  is  not  just  a  band,  it’s  a  show  that  recreates  classic  moments  from  =ilms  like   The   Blues   Brothers   and   The   Commitments,   as   well   as   classic   tracks   from   James  Brown,   Ike   &   Tina   Turner,   Al   Green,   Otis   Redding   plus   many   more.     Foot   stomping  rhythms   combined   with   soaring   saxophones,   searing   trumpets   and   powerful   soul-­‐=illed  vocals  make  The  Soul  Jam  is  an  act  that  will  transform  any  function  in  to  a  truly  memorable  occasion.    Available   to   book   for   corporate   functions,   weddings   and   events,   The   Soul   Jam   is   a  group  of  professional  working  musicians  with  a  reputation  for  delivering  high  quality  musical  entertainment.      

DebRA  Gala  Ball,  The  Palace  Hotel,  Manchester,  October  2011  

The  Soul  Jam  were  the  choice  of  UK  charity  DebRA  for  their  annual  North-­‐West  gala  dinner.    Held  in  the  sumptuous  surroundings  of  the  grand  ballroom  at  The  Palace  Hotel,  Manchester,  the  band  performed  a  full  90  minute  show  that  also  featured  a  special  arrangement  of  the  James  Bond  theme,  in  keeping  with  the  Hollywood  themed  evening.    The  band  also  performed  with  the  evening’s  celebrity  guest,  Emmerdale  actress  Natalie  Anderson.

Lymm  RFC’s  ‘Posh  Party  on  the  Pitch’,  Lymm,  June  2011  

"The  Soul  Jam  were  recommended  to  us  for  our  Posh  Party  on  the  Pitch  for  350  guests  in  June  2011.  Any  doubts  we  might  have  had  prior  to  the  event  were  blown  away  as  the  the  15  strong  band  began  playing,  and  hours  later  they  were  =inding  it  dif=icult  to  get  off  the  stage.  They  created  an  amazing  sound  and  I  would  recommend  them  to  anyone  who  wants  great  live  music  and  a  full  dance  =loor."

This  fantastic  event  is  held  within  a  top-­‐class  marquee  on  the  =irst  team  pitch  at  Lymm  RFC.    The  black  tie  party  is  a  =irm  =ixture  on  the  Cheshire  social  calendar,  attracting  a  audience  that  demands  the  highest  standards.  With  350  rugby  club  guests  to  entertain,  the  band  stormed  the  evening  with  a  set  choc  full  of  soul  hits  to  keep  the  party  going  in  to  the  small  hours.    

Barnsley  Music  Service  ‘Music  for  MS’  Gala  Concert,  The  Holiday  Inn,  Barnsley,  October  2011  

Barnsley  Music  Service  is  the  local  authority  body  responsible  for  delivering  musical  tuition  to  children  within  the  town’s  schools.    As  musicians  themselves  they  demanded  a  =irst  class  band  for  their  annual  charity  gala.    The  Soul  Jam  were  booked  to  ensure  that  the  evening  went  off  with  a  bang,  delivering  two  45  minute  sets  packed  full  of  toe-­‐tapping  soul  tunes  that  had  the  crowd  clapping,  dancing  and  singing.  

”We  had  heard  excellent  reviews  of  the  band  from  several  different  sources  and  booked  them  to  provide  the  main  entertainment  at  our  charity  gala.    Engaging  over  250  people  of  different  backgrounds  in  a  large  room  is  a  dif=icult  task.    We  were  overwhelmed  by  the  bands  collective  enthusiasm  and  energy,  which  clearly  feeds  the  audience  and  resulted  in  everyone  having  a  ball."

Additional  Services    With   15   mutli-­‐talented   members   in   the   band,   The   Soul   Jam   can   also   provide   some  additional  services  that  many  events  require.    DJ/  Background  Music    We  can  provide  a  full  DJ  service  to  make  sure  that  the  crowd  are  up  on  their  feet  before  the   show  and   the  party   continues  once   the  band  has   =inished.    We   can   also  provide  suitable  preset  playlists  to  run  in  the  background  of  your  dinner  or  buffet.    Jazz  Group    The  arrival  drinks  at  a  party  can  help  set  the  tone  for  the  entire  evening.    Why  not  kick  off  in  style  with  our  4-­‐piece  Jazz  group?    Playing  instrumental  and  vocal  versions  of  the  best  loved  standards,  this  music  is  meant  to  be  low-­‐key,  allowing  your  guests  to  chat,  mingle  and  enjoy  their  =irst  drink  of  the  evening!    The  set  is  usually  45mins  in  duration,  just  enough  time  for  guests  to  arrive  and  relax  before  making  their  way  to  dinner.    Photography    We  work  with  a  professional  photographer  with  an  excellent  portfolio  of  event  related  work.    If  you  need  an  of=icial  photographer  for  your  event,  look  no  further.          

Technical  stuff    Due   to   the   lineup   of   the   band   and   the   complexities   of   mixing   so   many   different  instruments,  The  Soul  Jam  generally  prefer  the  event  organiser  to  secure  the  services  of  an  audio  company  to  provide  the  sound  system  and  related  equipment.    We  have  a  full   technical   document   which   can   be   supplied   to   audio   companies,   providing   them  with   all   the   information   that   they   need   to   do   their   job   effectively.     Most   event  organisers  will  have  audio  companies  that  they  use  regularly,  but  if  not  we  are  happy  to  put  you  in  touch  with  suppliers  that  we  have  previously  worked  with.      Working  this  way  ensures  that  you,  the  organiser,  will  have  an  audio  system  that  is  suitable  for  both  the  band  and  the  venue,  in  turn  giving  the  best  audience  experience  possible.    With   a   mixture   of   male   and   female   members,   the   band   also   require   somewhere   to  change  in  advance  of  the  show.    We  don’t  request  white  sofa’s,  =luffy  kittens  or  goat’s  milk   bath’s,   but   do   ask   that   it’s   somewhere   clean,   comfortable   and   suitable   for   15  people!
