Dear Friends of St. Francis, Holy Cross and St. Kevin, We had an absolutely incredible first year of youth ministry in Springfield. This past Sunday, we had our end of the year BBQ with both the middle school and high school groups. We had a great time and shared many memories from over the year. We will be meeting periodically through the summer. Be sure to look out for announcements on social media and in the bulletins. I am excited to share that we are partnering with St. Norbert’s youth group and will be traveling to Steubenville this summer. All high school students are welcome. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you to the CORE team for their dedication to youth ministry this year. I could not have done it without you. KNIGHTS NEWS The Knights would like to thank our St. Kevin Family and friends for the overwhelming support we received in our Easter Crab Cake Sale and Bogart's Event for H.O.P.E. (Helping our Parishioners in Need) Program. We raised over $1000 from our crab cake sale and received over $1200 in gift cards that were donated to the H.O.P.E. Program. All fundraising proceeds enable the Knights to do good things at St. Kevin and surrounding community. We are very blessed and fortunate to have such a loving and giving parish! Please save the date for our next STOCK'S POUND CAKE SALE. We will be taking orders after all the masses on 9/22, 9/23, 9/29, and 9/30. Pick-up will be at the PLC on Thursday, 10/4. THREE PARISH BOOK CLUB The Three Parish Book Club meets on the last Wednesday of the month from September through June. Our last meeting of the season was on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Center at Holy Cross Church. At each meeting we not only discuss the month’s selection, but also offer each other suggestions of books we have enjoyed. You need not have read the month’s selections to attend the meeting. We would love to have you join us for refreshments and conversation. Taize Prayer with Adoration July 11, 2018 - 7:30pm The practice of contemplative prayer opens us to encounter and to be formed by this love that is poured out. Taizé worship is a contemplative communal prayer service that consists of meditative singing, Scripture reading, and periods of silence in order to reach a contemplative state. It is an international movement, inspired by an ecumenical interspiritual community in France. At St. Raphaela Center, we integrate our charism of Eucharistic Adoration with this contemplative worship. Come to join us for a monthly Taizé prayer, including Eucharistic Adoration that will extend in silence until midnight after the hour-long Taizé service.
