AMBER Alert Hellas was launched in Greece in May 2007 and today, there are over 57 partners who assist in the efficient broadcasting of information nationally, including:

“The Smile of the Child” has achieved the interconnection of 112 “The European Emergency Number” with 116000.

When a child goes missing, any information received by 112, will be immediately transferred to 116000.

SEEC – Southeastern European Centre for Missing & Exploited Children

SEEC works under the hub of The Smile of the Child since October 2010

SEEC Key Objectives Improving the cross-border cooperation in the field of combating the problem of missing and exploited children Supporting the implementation of 116 000 - European Hotline Number for Missing Children in SEE countries Encouraging the establishment of National Centers for missing and exploited children in SEE countries Playing a leading advocacy role in the protection of children’s rights in the region

SEEC - what has been done so far?

- selecting prospective collaborators from the region of Southeastern Europe - both public and private- on sights visits in the region -

-convention agreement between “The Smile of the Child” and the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs was signed, related to their collaboration on development of SEEC-Serbia is the first non- EU country, where 116000 will be operational by ASTRA (Anti-trafficking Action), with the support of SEEC.
