Dates for Your

Diary A note from the Headteacher

To Parents,

It’s been a scorcher! Thanks so much to you all for ensuring your children have arrived in school with sensible clothing, water bottles and sun-cream! We’ve had a fantastically busy week with lots of fun!

On Monday and Tuesday, many of you attended our brilliantly organised Sports-Day. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our WONDERFUL PE TEAM who arrived at school super early on Monday and Tuesday to ensure each activity ran seamlessly. We also can’t thank our very sensible, encouraging Year 6 children for supporting the younger children with their races. They demonstrated a really caring nature and should be really proud of the fantastic level of help that they provided. This year was the first year that we were fortunate enough to have been able to use Osterley Running Track for Years 4,5 and 6. The children really wanted it to be hosted at an alternative venue and were very excited about participating in their different activi-ties. It was stifling on both days but the children’s resilience and enthusiasm shone and they had a brilliant time. Awards were presented to the children during Friday’s assembly.

As well as this, children have been learning about their chosen country for National Sports Week. Many children were keen to challenge themselves in our European Country spelling chal-lenge (KS1)and Capital City Challenge (KS2). It is such a pleasure to see children testing their memories and putting in a tremendous amount of effort into learning something different. Throughout the school this week, children have been having a ridiculous amount of fun sam-pling food. I was only teaching a Maths lesson yesterday to have some Year 6 children enter excitedly describing their delight at trying Icelandic food! As we mentioned last week, we are on the lookout for children with special skills and amazing abilities to show them to the school and our community. So whether you are an expert chef, a musi-cian destined for greatness, a mystical magician, a side-splitting co-median, have a mesmerising memory, or have any other stupen-dous skills, we want you to show that you can Be The Best You Can Be!

Acts should be 2-3 minutes long, and we are really looking for-ward to seeing what skills our children have been hiding from us here at school!

School performances will be on the 9th July, with a final showcase of talent at the Summer Fair on 12th July.

Further details of rehearsals and try-outs will follow soon, but in the meantime get practicing!
