SHORT SYNOPSIS!n embittered, magical salesman repairs his shooting star machine and ventures out to restore people's belief in shooting stars. Much to his dismay, he picks up a curious 8 year old tag along "ho starts to question if perhaps it's the Salesman himself "ho needs to have his faith restored.

LONG SYNOPSISSet in modern time, The Shooting Star Salesman is the story of a 19th century ageless Salesman (Yancey !rias) "ho is granted the magical ability to align individuals "ith their o"n unique shooting star to "ish upon. His rare gift becomes a curse "hen he outlives his family, turning him into a recluse and breaking the magic of the shooting star machine. !s he ventures out to restore people's belief in shooting stars, he picks up a curious 8 year old tag along named Elijah (Elijah Velarde) "ho starts to question if perhaps it's the Salesman himself "ho needs to have his faith restored. !n unlikely partnership is formed bet"een the t"o as they embark on a journey to restore the faith of humanity. But as their friendship gro"s, the Salesman is torn bet"een continuing his legacy or renouncing his magical gift for the chance to reunite "ith the family he lost a lifetime ago.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENTDavid Brinkley once said, "! successful man is one "ho can lay a firm foundation "ith the bricks others have thro"n at him." The Shooting Star Salesman "as born during a time of cross roads. I "as 36 years old, married "ith t"o beautiful children and going on 3+ years of being unemployed. I had devoted the last t"elve years of my life as a film, "eb and television Editor and Producer "orking to"ards my lifelong goal of becoming a film director. Yet, no matter ho" experienced I "as I could not find steady employment that could help me provide for my family, none the less bring me closer to my dreams. I eventually became a broken man ready to give up on myself. I felt lost.#

Then one day I "as approached "ith the idea for The Shooting Star Salesman. The story so perfectly depicted my feelings of frustration and disillusionment. I felt like I "as the Salesman, having lost hope along the "ay. He "as a universal figure most of us can relate to, especially no" given our current economic times. I kne" then "hat I needed to do- I "ould create my o"n opportunities, open my o"n doors, direct my o"n film, create my o"n path. It "as a po"erfully unique story that I "as passionate about telling and nothing "as going to get in the "ay. $e formed the Film Imaginarium, raised $10,000 in 30 days through Kickstarter and t"o months later "e "ere in full production.

The film has evolved into my personal journey of delivering a message of hope and inspiration to others "ho may be "here I "as, a broken soul ready to give up on themselves and their dreams.

FILMMAKERSKICO VEL!RDE DIRECTOR / EXECUTIVE PRODUCERLos !ngeles native Kico Velarde began his career sharpening his editorial craft as an !ssistant Editor, eventually becoming an Editor on projects for companies like NBCUniversal, Deluxe Digital Studios, Technicolor, HGTV, Olmos Productions, and IFC, among others. Five years later he s"itched hats and "ent on to produce t"o internationally acclaimed and a"ard "inning feature films: 2007 Director's Fortnight (Cannes International Film Festival) Camera d' Or nominated "PVC-1" and the 2012 Berlin International Film Festival Golden Bear nominated "Meteora". In 2011, Kico "as tapped by NBCUniversal to join the producing team of Jay Leno's "eb-series "Jay Leno's Garage". That same year, Kico took home his first Emmy "in for "Jay Leno's Garage" and follo"ed that up "ith a second Emmy !"ard Nomination in 2012.

Taking a leap of faith to follo" his ultimate dream, Kico s"itched hats once again and made his directorial debut "ith the short film "The Shooting Star Salesman", starring Yancey !rias, Jason Gedrick, Sydney Tamiia Poitier, and his o"n son Elijah Velarde. "The Shooting Star Salesman" made its premiere at the 2012 Ne" York International Latino Film Festival presented by HBO and "as voted "Film of the Year" by the Georgia Latino Film Festival in November of 2012.

#hen not filming or editing, Kico takes advantage of every minute he can to enjoy life "ith his "ife and Producer Joanna Velarde and their t"o inspirations, Elijah and Sophia Velarde.

"ILLI!M C!M!CHOSCREEN#RITER / PRODUCERBorn in Bayreuth, Germany, #illiam Camacho spent the majority of his years gro"ing up in the suburbs of Los !ngeles, California. He got his start in entertainment at the age of 12 acting in his local theater programs. Since then, he has moved on to acting, "riting, and producing in the film industry. In 2011, he co-founded the Film Imaginarium.

JOEL CEB!LLOSPRODUCER / STORYJoel Ceballos is a singer/song"riter/producer from Los !ngeles "hose gift for storytelling has left a footprint on the music industry over the last decade. !s a recording artist, he has released t"o albums; 2001's "Bet"een Dark & Light" and 2007's "Nocturnal". !fter having the pleasure to tour and promote those releases "ith many talented artists, Joel began composing music for independent film; opening the door to produce and continue storytelling through the medium of film. Y!NCEY !RI!SLE!D !CTOR / PRODUCERYancey !rias is kno"n for his break out performance as Miguel Cadenas in the NBC mini series “KINGPIN” and continues to thrive. Yancey also starred in the FX original series "THIEF". He co-starred in the critically acclaimed films "#!LK OUT" on HBO in "hich he received a best supporting actor nomination, and "!merican Family" for PBS. He starred as !lex Torres in the NBC series “KNIGHT RIDER” by Gary Scott Thomson and Doug Liman.$

In 2010 Yancey took on the role as Director, #riter, and Producer of his a"ard "inning short film titled “B!BY”.$

In 2011 Yancey starred in the films “!MERIC!”, and “UNDOCUMENTED”. Yancey’s Broad"ay Theater Credits include "Miss Saigon" as Thuy, and "George #olf's "The #ild Party" as Black.$He "as recently featured in episodes of the ne" !BC series “REVENGE”, CBS “BLUE BLOODS”, and CBS ELEMENT!RY.$

In 2012 Yancey recently completed filming on the highly anticipated film “CH!VEZ” directed by Diego Luna, and produced by John Malcovich. The film stars Michael Pena, Rosario Da"son, !merica Ferrera, John Malcovich, Jacob Vargaz, and Yancey !rias. The film is due out in 2013.$

JO!NN! VEL!RDEPRODUCER / EXECUTIVE PRODUCERJoanna Velarde is a graduate of the University of Southern California, "here she studied Communication and Business !dministration. Her career in television production began internationally at a major television net"ork in Spain on a magazine style lifestyle program. Joanna spent the next 12 years developing her skills in production and casting mainly "ithin the educational programming and the non fiction reality "orld, having "orked on sho"s for PBS, !MC, Biography Channel, Travel Channel and Style Net"ork, among others. She is proud to have been an !ssociate Producer on 2 seasons of KCET's Emmy a"ard-"inning daytime talk sho" “! Place of Our O"n”. In 2008, Joanna turned her focus to"ards independent film as a Producer and Production Manager. Past films include Pizza Man (Frankie Muniz, Shelley Long, Michael Gross) and Dorfman in Love (Sara Rue, Johann Urb, Elliott Gould). In 2010, Joanna co-founded The Film Imaginarium "ith her husband and producing team, and used her online marketing savvy to spearhead the Kickstarter campaign for their film,The Shooting Star Salesman. They successfully raised over $10,000 in 30 days and "ent into production shortly after.

Joanna finds balance in life "ith her husband Kico, their t"o beautiful children, Elijah and Sophia, and the fantastic adventures they create for themselves!

SHEREEN F!LT!SEXECUTIVE PRODUCERShereen Faltas is the author of The Coolest Quote Book Eva and the Founder of Shereen Entertainment, Inc., a company focused on helping people have a life of fulfillment and freedom. She began her laughing days in stand up comedy and evolved into an inspiration junkie only to finally become a bonafide life coach. She is one of the founding members of “!n Empo"ered #oman,” one of the most po"erful net"orking communities and online resource centers for "omen professionals and entrepreneurs. BRI!N JOSEPH OCH!BPRODUCERBrian Joseph Ochab began his career in stop-motion animation.$ #hile still in his teens, he "orked for a top Mid"est$special e%ects &$stop-motion animation facility.$ Rising quickly through the ranks, he "orked on countless industrial films, commercials, and feature films including Sam Raimi’s cult classic$The Evil Dead II.

He has gone on to direct and produce projects for film, television, stop-motion animation and ne" media "eb content.$$He received an Emmy® nomination for directing the hit PBS kids series MY BEDBUGS.$ He recently garnered great media attention "ith the announcement of his stop-motion animated film entitled TIM narrated by film legend Christopher Lee. $He also directed a 2012 Super Bo"l ad entitled HITCHHIKER, "hich received critical, acclaim.$ Brian is currently helming a three part series about the !SIF! organization, the !NNIE a"ards and their influence on animation over the past forty years. $ Brian has earned a reputation of taking on projects and quickly creating an environment that fosters excellence, a high degree of creativity and rich story telling.

"#fter moving to Los #ngeles in 2007, he quickly made his !ay up the ranks of the reality post-production !orld at companies such as Mark Burnett Productions, MTV, and NBC. "His list of TV editing credits include "Richard Hammond's Crash Course" on BBC #merica and "K#THY" (the late night Kathy Gri$n talk sho! on Bravo).

M!RI! TERES! G!VIRI!PRODUCTION DESIGNERMaria is a Film Independent Project: Involve Producing fello! for 2012. " #s a Fine #rts major, her creative curiosity led her to !ork in design, media and superior arts education. Since 2009 she has been !orking in film as a Producer and Production Designer.

"Mañana" marked the beginning of her producing career, a ne! challenge !ith great success. On "Salvador", she secured a private sponsor and support from entities such as CBS Radford Studios, and produced "Impossible" , among others.

She has collaborated as Production Designer for numerous projects and her art !ork has been exhibited in

solo and collective art sho!s in Mexico, Greece, US#, and Guatemala, !here she !as a finalist in JU#NNIO 2008, as !ell as in Colombia, including the Museum of Modern #rt in Cartagena and Centro Cultural Skandia in Bogotá.

ELIJ!H VEL!RDE / ELIJ!HElijah Velarde began acting professionally at the age of 4 "hen he auditioned for a local children's musical theatre production of "Fame on Broad"ay" and landed an ensemble role in the "Les Miserables" and "Oliver" numbers. Shortly after, he caught the eye of a talent manager and booked a national Spanish and English commercial for State Farm Insurance on his very first audition! He is represented by The Osbrink !gency and has done several commercials including Elmers Glue, Humana, !d Council PS!, as "ell as television sho"s "Melrose Place" and "Parenthood".

In 2010 came the chance of a lifetime "hen he landed the part of Young !rmando, the young version of #ill Ferrell, in "Casa de MiPadre", also starring Diego Luna, Gael Garia Bernal and Efren Ramirez. That same year, "riter and founding partner of The Film Imaginarium, #illiam Camacho, began "riting the script for The Shooting Star Salesman and "rote the role of Elijah exclusively for Elijah himself. The film "ent into production in 2011 and it "as an incredible experience for him to "ork alongside veteran actors Yancey !rias, Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Jason Gedrick and the memorable opportunity of being directed by his father, Director Kico Velarde. #hen he's not acting, you'll find Elijah learning Tae K"on Do, riding his scooter, building "ith his Legos or playing Nerf gun "ars "ith his sidekick, little sister Sophia.

J!SON GEDRICK / BUSINESSM!NJason Gedrick began his career in films such as The Heavenly Kid (1985), Iron Eagle (1986), Promised Land (1987) "ith director Michael Hoffman, Iron Eagle II , Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Backdraft (1991), and Crossing the Bridge (1992). Gedrick's big break "as in Steven Bochco's innovative 1995 series Murder One. In 1999, he guest starred on !lly McBeal as the "hot car "ash guy". In 2011 he appeared in Necessary Roughness as Dr. J.D. !ldridge, a former grad school professor and possible love interest for series lead Callie Thorne.

Gedrick "as a member of the cast of the HBO series Luck, "hich ran for one season in 2012. Gedrick appears in a multi-episode arc playing the manager of a Miami-area gentlemen’s club that becomes linked to a high-profile murder case in Season 7 of Dexter. Beginning in November 2012, Gedrick starred as Evan Farns"orth, a struggling professor at a prestigious Maine boarding school, in the Hallmark movie, The $ishing Tree.

In the fall of 2012, Gedrick appeared on an episode of NBC's Grimm.

SYDNEY T!MII! POITIER / ZOEYBorn in Los !ngeles, Sydney is the daughter of Bahamian actor Sidney Poitier and former Canadian actress Joanna Shimkus. Poiter attended Tisch School of the !rts "here she earned a Bachelor's degree in acting. She also studied at Stella !dler Studio of !cting

Sydney began her career in the late 1990s. In 2001, she landed her first role on television in the NBC drama series First Years. In 2003, she starred in the UPN sitcom !bby. Later that same year, she had a recurring role in Joan of !rcadia, "here she played Rebecca !ske", the love interest of Joan's older brother, Kevin (Jason Ritter).
