• Meso-scale diagnos: Eddies, fronts, thermocline, Pycnocline and upwelling.

• Effects introduced by waves: modified KPP scheme

(Qiao et.al. 2004)

Summary

• A Global operational oceanography forecast framework CGOFS, including circulation, temp, salinity, wave, wind and ice is established and validated.

• Assimilation method in South China Sea proves quite effective and has improved the model significantly.
